He shuddered thinking about two boys swinging around large steel swords. His mind went back to that fateful day in Slytherin's Chamber where he was forced to use the sword of Gryffindor against the Basilisk. It was by sheer dumb luck he survived the Basilisk not to mention not getting skewered by the sword as well. While he certainly loved making swords he was not obsessed enough to use them in combat.

Character devlopment my friend. If everything is perfect from the beginning the story would be flat with nothing changing moving forward. Besides, there are always multiple levels of reasoning for likes and dislikes of a person. No one goes around and give a eulogy about all the reasons for what they think at any given moment.
With a distinct thud, the head of the prisoner hit the ground. The headless body tried to thrash around, but the men holding the limbs of the dead prisoner managed to arrest any needless movement. Nonetheless, the blood pooling around the Ironwood block was a gory sight, as was the headless body of the prisoner. Harry was reminded of some of the gory scenes from the war in his homeworld as muggles and wizards alike turned animalistic during the height of the war. Dismembered bodies were a common sight in most nations as muggles and wizards were forced to rely on cruder weapons to fight the war. Wizards were becoming weak in their magic while muggles were running out of bullets for their guns which forced them both to rely on melee weapons. This was one of the reasons why he had an aversion to training with a sword in the earlier days. If he was to enter a battlefield, then he had no inhibition to go for the kill, but he liked to keep it clean and as painless as possible. Using magic seemed a much more refined way of killing rather than using melee weapons which generated some primal instincts that he disliked.

Harry woke up with a start, only to find himself in his room surrounded by darkness in Grimmauld Place. He let out a sigh of relief, realising it was just a dream. He had a dream about the countless men and the number of Giants he had killed, which was disturbing his mind. Putting his head in his hands, Harry felt like a migraine was slowly taking root. Blindly reaching out with his hand, Harry searched the nightstand for a minute until he finally found the cigarette pack and his wand. Lighting a small fire, he lit the cigarette and breathed in the smoke. The warmth it provided temporarily distracted him, and after a few puffs, Harry felt the migraine lessen.

There is no 'Damascus steel'. It's also not Wootz steel because that is not a Tamil word. Southern India is where Uruk was produced. Eastern sultanates purchased Uruk ingots and transported them on their ships from southern Indian empires and had them reforged in their empires. Damascus steel is the name Europeans gave to the steel weapons their enemies used. The sultanates never called them Damascus steel in their writings.
In his travels around the world, he came to love the craft of a blacksmith. There was something primaeval to that profession that called him to this ancient art. In the story, the Valyrins bound the Old Gods to the Dragonmont and used them as a battery of sorts. So, yeah. They have beef with the Valyrians.
As powerful as he was, Harry was not idiotic enough to mess with the abode of gods. They were the most powerful in their realm, as the Valyrians found out painfully. If anyone needs to see the power of the Old Gods, one only needs to look at the Doom of Valyria.
