Maka Akabane > Soul Eater A Death Weapon Meisner, student of the Death Weapon Meinsner Academy (who's principal is the Grimm Reaper himfreakingself mind you) and one of the anime's protagonists. Shinigamy powers > Bleach Shinigamis guide the good souls of the dead to the afterlife(that they also manage and protect) and purge the evil ones. They use the energy from their souls to cast spells known as demon arts, the spell does require chants but skilled casters can shorten or even compleatly forgo the chant to cast the spell with diminished returns. Shinigamis all have their own unique zanpaktos, that are sentient weapons created by their souls, a shinigami's zampakto is their eternal partner in their extremely long lifes. There are rare shinigamis that can tap into the power of the evil souls ,known as hollows, that they hunt, those shinigamis are known as vizard. -
