That’s fair, but the ones making the assumption are Serafall and Azazel, if anyone would be capable of sensing the mana pulse and identifying it, it would be them. Even if they know its not a devil, it clearly felt similar enough to Lucifer, someone they both would certainly remember the magic feel of. They know it might not be, but what other option is there for them? The two of them are centuries old and likely interacted with most factions due to their jobs and are thus familiar with similar feeling beings, so if it feels most similar to Lucifer, they have nothing else to go off of. Its not like they are aware of the restaurant right now, so they are working with what they know. That said, I definitely agree that other factions should be brought up more, but its definitely hard when mythologies like the Greeks and Norse are barely brought up. It’s basically creating OCs for every important figure, not to mention powers, connections to other gods, personalities, etc, not to mention it has to fit the story. Its not easy to bring up characters from something like the Slavic pantheon when east europe is never mentioned outside Romania; and excluding some Greek figures working with the Khaos Brigade, the Greek pantheon is hardly mentioned.

Zeref is a demon/devil in his world, and with an attack that covered and killed all enemies in Japan. His magic signature was likely similar enough to devils that they assumed it was a Lucifer, since which other bloodline would have the potential to do that with such precision and speed.

I can’t wait for more Serafall POVs. I remember the original and what it was leading to, but I don’t remember if it reached the reveal.
