Most Presidents are/were.
In the election of Bruno's previous life, Taft had performed poorly, gaining only two states in the Electoral College. But now, he was the favorite. Bruno had spent the better part of a decade shaping American public opinion to reinforce the Monroe Doctrine and keep the nation out of global affairs.

Or they could follow the example of Serbia after the Yugoslav wars. "My father is a war criminal. What are you going to do about it?"
Bruno flicked his cigarette into the Serbian General's face, catching the man entirely off guard. This gave him the time to withdraw his Mauser C96 from its holster, where he immediately pointed it at the head of the Serbian General, speaking the words that would later become infamous in the annals of history, as what truly happened here on this day would take decades to uncover.

That's exactly what they did in our life XD
Drastic measures were needed to combat German air supremacy. Because of this, France basically strapped a machine gun onto the top of the Nieuport 10, allowing it to be fired via a serpentine lever by the pilot.

Bruno has long since stopped caring about his honor. Any idealistic notions towards war that he had in his past life has long since vanished. Whatever it takes to win the war and punish those responsible for the doomed timeline he once lived in is what he will do.

Yes but France ultimately declared war on Germany in support of their Russian Allies. Had France not done so, and it was merely Russia/Serbia vs Germany/Austro-Hungary, then it would not have been a world war. It would have been a regional conflict with an overwhelming German/Austro-Hungarian victory. That was kind of my point.
Culminating in their declaration of war against the German Reich in 1914, as well as the imposing of the abominable treaty of Versailles in 18, which due to the punitive actions taken against the German Empire, for literally no reason other than French pettiness, ended up being a direct cause for the Second World War a mere two decades after the fact.

And those who remained in the army are either high ranking NCOs, or Officers.
This was not some petty civil war fought in the frozen wastelands of Russia between a ragtag group of Marxist rebels and the Russian army. This was a war fought between the world's great powers. Nearly a month had passed since the July Crisis began, and the declarations of war had been made.

Because Bulgaria lost a lot of territory to Greece a year prior in the Second Balkan war, which was started because the other Balkan States, including Greece refused to accept their territorial demands out of the First Balkan War against the Ottoman Empire. In other words, at this point in time in 1914 the Bulgarians and Greeks see each other as the big bad. Which is always changing in Balkan Politics...
