They also needed Enid to tell them how they're getting screwed over.
[Yeah. I'm thinking we get eighty percent, since we do all the work? You can skim twenty off the top for your trouble. Sound good?]

I'm still waiting for the part where he takes the residue of a high level mech designer and uses it to make a design spirit that emulates a design philosophy. Don't forget about that alright? Ves even mentioned that it should be possible.
"I see."

I wonder if they know about his mother? I mean there should be enough hints to suggest that his mother is ancient. Superior Mother + Nyxian Gap Rescue + Metal Scroll beneficiary. The Polymath's should know, right?
"As I have mentioned earlier, the last prong to my plan is to bring back the secrets of our hidden past. I cannot disclose too much information outside of a closed briefing session, but I can tell you that ancient humans were far more powerful than you assume. They have already studied and taken advantage of the phenomenon known as E energy radiation many millennia ago. The reason why this is not apparent is because it was buried for good reasons. Now that our circumstances have changed, we cannot afford to deprive the public from the legacies that we have kept secret."

Yes, but he says, that the compact doesn't believe in his research. The compact should be one of the few people who would believe in cultivating the soul and spirit. Why did Jutland get looked down on?
"Our mothers were right. Ves is truly a talent when it comes to breaking rules!"

That's the tricky part.
"How to conduct ethical human experiments."

Sounds similar to Ves's Sympathetic materials.
Master Goldstein crossed his arms. "Not all resonating exotics are related to powerful humans of the past. There is a small proportion of… aliens as well as bizarre existences that possess a friendly attitude to humans and possibly other races. This can lead to an outcome where their dispersed energies contaminate materials and produce exotics that our high-ranking expert pilots can resonate with. In fact, every material can resonate with pilots. The difference is that the effect is not usually strong enough to rely upon it. Only exotics that resonate with human mech pilots are important to expert mechs."

Without mana, lungs are about the only decent options for bigger animals
Who needs 'em, anyway?! What have lungs ever done for anyone?

I just realized that since the CS depends on psionic strength then the piloting talent will be proportional to how likely they are to break through.
As for the Transhumanists, human ascension became more accessible to the masses than ever. The possibilities that Ves brought to the table opened up an easier and less convoluted way for humans of all stripes to grow stronger.

The Brand New! Psiooonic Interfaaace!!!
Jannzi wasn't finished yet. "That isn't all. While it is not relevant to me, I suspect that the Carmine System can play an even larger role for other people. You see, if a neural interface isn't necessary anymore, is it still important for humans to possess the right genetic aptitude in order to become an effective pilot?"

I think he'll revisit this for upgrading Veronica. Phasewater is her main path so it makes sense to use something like this. A mech designer that's like a phase lord(Ves) and a phase lord that's like a mech designer(Veronica). It might even improve his ability to design biomechs if he gains intuitive understanding while progressing in phasewater.
"Mech designers exist to serve mech pilots, not themselves. This design project… is powerful alright, but if it is solely centered around me, then it is not appropriate to treat it as my main goal. At most, I can work on it as a side project if I have enough time."
