He definitely draws his blood control from the heart . my three theories for why logan wants it are 1.) pure has the information regarding his families death and want to trade for it 2.) two ties in with one in that the dna from all the blood of the best warriors will be used as an improvised source to make superhumans like the nest crystal but on steroids. 3.) this is my least likely, but after 1000 years nest crystals are losing the ability to sustain logan and to continue his life he needs to replace them with the heart.
