oh okay my bad must have hyper focused on something else I totally forgot
This chapter has alot to unpack. It wasn't outright stated but I'm guessing the setting is finally released to be in the Lufondal Empire and there is a different Kingdom directly north. Where the tower and acedemy is not revealed just yet but we can infer that it's not very close. This is also the first time a religion is mentioned. The Holy Order... This kingdom, if I were to just make a wold guess, is where the White Academy would be. This would also be a solid hiding place for one of the 7. This Mot the deliverer could be one of the 7 or he could be an avatar of one of the gods or some other holy figure it's not confirmed. Also interesting that the soul can communicate even though they are physically dead. Maybe the kid has information? or does he just want to bad mouth in vain hopes of living again?

The emotional problem for Ludwig is a serious one. As long as he don't figure this out, he will be kinda nerfed as far as the power and potential of his spells and his future as a potential mage. Augmenting his spells with the right emotions isn't needed now since he is still learning the basics of mana and spells in theory but later on when I comes to fights and going after the Seven emotional augmentation and mastery will be almost a necessity in any attempt at real deep magic. And there the Godrick the Grafted boy over here with a monster body part? I'm curious on his background to get such a thing as well as the side affects he for sure has. Keep up the good work
Good explanation of the alchemy part. In hindsight, I was a bit to hasty on calling it glazing, knowing the character so far has always done something with a reason or has logical reasoning to back it up.
This chapter seemed a bit to much of a glaze on Ludwig to me if I'm being honest. It was good until he suddenly knew how to make a better potion out of thin air after never done alchemy in his life. How did he know the correct procedure to make a intermediate pill? How did he know exactly what proportion to cut the pearl and how to taper of the temp? It sounds nitpicking but it was a big focus in the chapter that alchemy is a precise science that could blow in your fave if you don't know what your doing. While Ludwig did have inspect and was able to mimic the teacher, he should have no idea on how to go the extra mile.
Unsurprisingly, Ludwig is a source of suspicion in the cause of death. It's curious about Van Dijks clout in the Dark Tower, and all the reacher so far have been on the same page regarding him being there. Granted, it's still a new story, but no teacher outright is hostile or trying to bend the rules against his favor from the get-go like there normally would be in other school stories or arcs, which to me is refreshing. The Tower head must have held a meeting or sent a missive explaining the issue and lay down an iron fist policy on the issue. Granted the blessing doesn't screw him over first lmao.....
What a chapter. These types of chapters are very tricky with giving the reader a sense of how much hardship Ludwig had to go through to get this. We readers probably won't understand just how much because the vast majority of us have never had pain that makes us lose our sanity. This also goes to show how much of an insane genius Dijk is. Who would think to give an undead Nephilim? The rarest substance presently known to man? And not just that but the subject actually living and being a success?! Think of it like a insane Einstein carved radioactive material that should kill 100x over but you instead turn into superman (granted he lives to grow into power). Crazy crazy stuff.
This is actually a huge development to the lantern. As long as he kills enough people, theoretically, he can have infinite number of emotions and therefore spells at his fingertips with (so far) no emotional attachment to drag him further in the tower philosophy and cutting him off from other opposite emotions required for other spells. This probably consumes the soul in exchange for using its lingering emotions, I would guess. Interesting seeing the kid actually be intellectually when he isn't taken by dark emotions.
