May I suggest some sort of edit somewhere before this that just off-handly mentions the hours and days and weeks and months spent memorizing various known gem recipes and how he's already selected his preferred for if he ended up as a 1-link, 2-link, 3-link, etc? Maybe even mention a few possibilities for those lesser options.

Spikes and thick black skin covered my body, replacing my clothes. The transformation also changed my skin, giving it a dark and menacing appearance. It'd be one AI to be the Devil Emporer. Another AI to peruse the forums and news and other real-life events in order to adjust storyline items. And possibly a third AI monitoring in-game things like non-private chats and events and such to analyze and adjust the future Devil Emporer events and stat-building.
'Or maybe…the game developer uses A.I. that could detect rumors too?' James thought, his mind racing with possibilities. If that were true, it would certainly be a fascinating development. The idea that the game could adapt and respond to player behavior in real-time was both thrilling and unsettling.
