It’s moments like these that make me view eda as a good mother figure for luz and king. She’s supportive, lets them make their own mistakes so they can learn, but still helps them out if they need it, and clearly cares a lot about their wellbeing. She can still put her foot down when things get to dangerous as well. Sure she has her failings, like with the convention and the tears, but she does her best to make up for them.
Luz screamed with excitement and jumped at Eda, hugging the woman with all her strength while Gus cheered victoriously behind them. Eda groaned, not letting on that she actually enjoyed the hug, then said; "Okay okay, get off me kid."

For the first time in her life, Luz found herself actually disappointed that her day at school was over. Her time at Hexside had been the most fun she'd ever had at school, and the first time she'd ever felt like she wasn't either bored, losing focus, or out of her depth. Luz wasn't a stupid child by any means; she just had difficulty focusing on anything that didn't keep her interest, and if she found those things easy, she became bored, and if she found them difficult, she quickly began to feel like she was drowning in an attempt to keep up. All of this was combined with her less than stellar reputation among her peers for her chaotic attempts to help others, and the resultant bullying, which lead to Luz hating normal school.

Good characters with a lovable mc and female lead. Enjoyable dynamic. Good world building i especially love how enchanted items are handled with them having stories behind them. It builds on the theme of mortals being entertainment for gods. It’s cute how the mc and female lead are constantly trying to make the other flustered like it’s some sort of competition. Mc is adorable too while still being competant if rediculously lucky. But there is an in universe explanation for her luck which makes it feel like less of an asspull. I like the bunny imagery used to describe her. Speaking of descriptions i was able to form a solid image of the characters that more or less lined up with the illustrations without looking at them so good job there author. That’s about all i have to say, keep up the good work and i’ll keep reading.
