this is written in first person. if the MC doesn't understand the language, there is no need for the reader to understand it either. it's a creative choice I made since the whole story is from the perspective of the MC. tbh, this entire thing is an exercise in writing first person because I want to write an entire story where the MC is an old man telling his story to his grandkids.

you might be able to put all the pieces together reading it, but Kyle is living it. when we look back at history, we think "how could they have been so dumb?" people will be looking back at us whilst asking the same question. consider it from that viewpoint.

I've never experienced it, but losing someone especially close to you in a tragic "accident" where you are completely helpless is absolutely devastating.
