To that end, he did agree with the General on one point -- the spy wasn't likely to sabotage the invasion itself. Not when there were potential millions wanting to pour into the Wasteland.

No no. I remember that. Its just that the chapter where Heartless and Butcher meet at the end, ended just like that. With them just saying hello to each other and nothing else.
She caught a glimpse of a man with a heavy looking shield on his back, half covered by a backpack, doing what sure looked like a bribe.

Speaking of forgeting characters, what happened with the Butcher and Law interaction? I'm pretty sure it was just cut off at the end of a chapter, or maybe I skipped something by accident?

Not using coins of different nominations and using just one currency would have been a lot better. After all, billions are a lot bigger than tens of thousands. So instead of everything costing 10,000 gold coins, it would cost a hundred million dollars or something like that. Gold Coins just make it seem cheap, at least the character reactions to that amount is not our reaction, mainly because we have no concept of how much 10,000 gold coins actually are. There is no relation to real life.
Why are we using gold coins in the late 21st century? I get that society was basically broken down with that first thing, but it should have been relatively simple to get back to around the same general level of technology, escpecially with the Ice People and the people from the sea (who were said to have advanced technology). So why are we not using either paper money or digital currencies?
Klaus took a deep breath as he left his small home, the weight of the pouch of gold coins in his pocket reminding him of his promise to his mother. He headed eastward through the city, his thoughts focused on the hunt ahead. He needed to level up quickly to secure a better future for both himself and his mother.

Wait so, everything in the real world like cars, buildings, etc. that are not people will be overridden by the world of the game?
But now he didn't want to talk about that. Instead, he wanted to sell the company shares they owned for two reasons. First, due to his parents' deaths, most of the high-position employees who were loyal to them either left the company or switched sides. So even if he took back the company, he wouldn't have much power. The second and most important reason was that the game Immortal Odyssey: Paths of Destiny would merge with the real world, making everything that didn't come from the game disappear.
