Well, the main thing of Magic worlds is that the focus of progress would be in the magic area instead of physics, which is why sometimes even basic physical events could be seen as wonders and so this is making sense in relative. We can't put our focus of progress on everything at the same time to such an extend, and here it does make sense that magic would be a main focus, even if there are many non-magic users

I believe both works here. not his own body as in he doesn't accept or think of this body as his own yet, which is a thing that happens quite often in such Novels. or old body, doesn't really make much of a difference
Still as it wasn't his own body. He couldn't achieve full power of its peak life. Which can only be achieved if he continued to train himself.

After some thinking, I put it in my inventory. Worst case scenario, I wouldn't be able to find a place to sell it to and I'd just… throw it away, I guess. While the thought of walking around carrying an awesome scythe was fun, I had no idea on how to wield one.
