Hmm I think it's to make the story not anticlimactic, since we don't even get to know the other Heroine in the story. As an author I think he will try to get us to know all 4 Heroine at first then probably let us decide which of the 3 has a forgivable trait then just condemn the remaining 1 Heroine or he'll just make a boring catch em all harem type of character. But over all I think the reason why he is not getting straight to the investigation is so that we actually have known each of the heroine but idk maybe the story is different from what I imagined will happen. We'll see 😭😭😭😭
But if he do that then the plot will be boring, we don't need to have all fantasy logic available since if this happens the ending will probably be anticlimactic.
