Part of growing is to learn to accept yourself, called self-actualization. And, once you truly do that, you no longer care to don that mask anymore because you have nothing to hide or fear about yourself. Many people go through life without truly accepting themselves to be how they are. Self-actualization is a hard process, not guaranteed, and many dont experience it until they get much older. The older you get, the more likely you will be to achieve it. You can look up many articles online from psychology about it.
I reckon many of you are donning this mask as we speak, perhaps unaware that it has become a seamless part of your identity.

Let's see... bandits do martial arts and city lords have libraries... adds up! Practicing martial arts can be done by anybody but only the rich could afford teachers and books before public school. Especially with the fact that most books were written by hand and paper extremely expensive... I feel like Author did opposite of the saying to troll but not sure haha
However, in the saying 'the poor read and the rich do martial arts,' without money, wanting to practice martial arts is wishful thinking.

It would have been better to give him the base items like family token, storage token, etc. and then simply say something like, "he then bought all of the important items which would be valuable for the future, but now was the time for..." and then later on, you could pull out an item and reference this moment and info. dump one item at a time instead of the mass info. dump. This way, you have insurance for yourself, too, just in case you forgot anything as well, and you can just spawn one in if it's not too OP or ridiculous.
Wayyyyyyy too much info. dump and chapters spent on shopping, I think... would have been better to just get the key items he needed real quick and then hop into the story.
Maybe instead of dirt, just say impurities. If you want to world-build more, you could say how the non-spiritual world builds up pollution within the human body where spiritual qi can cleanse it.
Murder out of extreme envy is one of the worst possible things to even consider and worse do.
