The author not giving the MC a cynical worldview is an unfair reason to rate this book a 1 star. The translation is good and the story isn't even that slow paced. Plus, the intro chapters don't even mention how the MC died. He could've died of natural causes.

One of the best trial reads in a while. There's a lot of potential in this western fantasy style novel. The protagonist couple dynamic is pretty engaging, but the biggest draw is how trusting they are of each other. The translation has very minor issues but is much, much better than the pseudo MTL stuff posted most of the time. Maybe it's because I haven't read a western fantasy novel in a while, but I'm praying that this gets picked.
