"Your Highness," Giselle said. "What's going on? Is the Princess alright?"

"Yes, she is. Her legs just gave out on her, and I decided you should give her a helping hand. Help her get dressed. At this point, we would be late for the party."

"Of course," Giselle said and walked into the room. "I will go pick something for her to wear."

Bel watched Giselle walk past her and to the door. She was grateful when Giselle didn't turn around to look at her. She was so embarrassed she wished the ground would open and swallow them both.

The door to the bedroom closed, and Davien spoke to her. "Would you behave now?" he asked.

She didn't respond. Bel was seething. He should be glad they weren't standing too close to the dagger she was sure she would have buried in his back. He didn't seem to care that she didn't reply as he walked into the room with her still on his shoulders.
