章節 32: 2780-Space City Iron Lake (044165)-Sanity is for Sissies

The world is sissy, I know this, because the very definition of masculinity, as mankind has decided it, is set by their favorite actor, yes an actor — the most sensitive, Feminine, and emotional men of their species. Actors spend so much time on categorizing their emotional range, that they spend hours looking in their mirror just to memorize all of their own possible facial expressions.

They categorize looks has specialized skills and attributes to their talent. The man who can break out in tears is the most valued of them all.

Yet people are influenced by them, because of entertainment?

People forget that the entertainment we watch is purely made up by people making theorization of how it would feel like to be that cool, manly, or intelligent.

Think about it, only the least manly of men, ever prioritized their looks over an ability to provide — the male instinct as it's called. Men are providers, so many of them need backup plans. And in that theory, we define that the male ego can only be judged in one criterion. That their all carbon copies of one other looking at things from a different perspective.

What if every human being, was just reincarnations of the first human being, we all live together in the same timeline, and the only way this can work is if we all lose our memories?

That would make the reincarnation theory less fun...right? But maybe we all live in different timelines, after all; just timelines that restrain each other enough so that a message to oneself will never make it across.

Our brains are severed from making contacts to each other, so we have to use our mouths.

And our mouths are such an inaccurate source.

We are one; we are everything... right?

People often didn't understand that what they believed they were seeing often was usually just a rough estimation, of what another guy told them it was.

Would it really be cool to go on a killing spree?

Would you go insane? Is going insane fun?

It looks fun in movies. Like those people might be really enjoying themselves.

But then you see people on the streets that don't make it look fun.

A person in true need, by circumstance, does not need dignity. Losing your dignity is, in fact, losing sanity, especially if you had dignity once, and It makes it worse if the people around you have kept their dignity, while you have lost yours.

....

Zatland was a little afraid of what happened earlier, now that he thought back to it, it made him nervous. His mind fizzled in and out of reality for a second, and he came back smarter.

But was he smarter or was his reality an illusion of reality, because now he was seeing illusion in reality.

What is it like to be able to look at something, and break it apart, in your head; into little bits and pieces?

What is it like to mathematically categorize all the parts, and figure out through geometry, why they were shaped the way they needed to be. This was like X-ray vision only on a more specific subject matter.

Zatland could control and modify all the tools he was currently looking at. In a tool shop five blocks away from where he left Issac earlier, he was marching up and down the aisle, because there was a tool shop, deeper inside the tools presented on the shelves. When he saw the tools break into their components, right before his eyes; he was surprised by the realism, he now had a vivid imagination when it came to electronics.

He could see between the lines, and take from what he needed from tool components.

He began to collect his parts from the varied assortment in the store, and found about fifteen tools altogether that he could break apart, he purchased them all.

Then he went to a computer store and purchased some tools from there. He went from place to place filling his backpack, and before long he had a fat stash of tools filling his now three bags.

Way too many...or it would have been if Zatland didn't need most of them only for their parts and pieces.

Now he went to a hidden spot he had found behind a couple of building, and some trash can. He couldn't afford being trapped inside a building. behind the trash, he began dismantling and breaking almost all of the tools except for a couple of them that were already good enough, a sauntering iron and some extra wire.

A better quality wire would be hard to find even in a black market place. Wire was more heavily regulated than most people would believe.

He took the several hundred pieces and began rearranging them in the ways that he needed like a Rubik's cube.

This was his tool creation, a very advanced engineering skill. In which Khalib knowledge on tools, would shuffle thing around in his head like building blocks.

Zatland knowledge of it was limited, and not even an iota of the ability that Khalib once had. But he could mess around with simple office supply tools and some computers.

The process was fast, like assembling a gun. When you understood the way to build you could move fast while creating things.

At the end of it, he had five slightly misshapen components on the ground.

He fit those together. Creating two incompletely tools. Some of the parts didn't fit quite naturally. But they still worked.

These were tools that needed to be upgraded badly, but they were more advanced than the stuff he was using earlier.

Without studying the tools, he packed them all up into one bag.

He took some extra pieces, then left the mess in the alleyway.

Now he needed a large computer, and to steal a watch of course.

This part wouldn't be easy, as if Isaac had any bit of sense, he would know what Zatland would be looking for.

Issac had a lot of sense.

Zatland couldn't crawl around on the floor or hide forever. And keeping an eye on Zion would be easier for him.

Zion was the one person Zatland had to approach to pass the test; there was literally no other students participating in the assessment Isaac presided. All other students were taking their test, so Zion was Zatland only possible option for backup.

Issac wouldn't fear to notice this.

But Zatland as well had arranged a tool for such a moment they would meet each other again. so he decided for a little bit more direct approach. Direct but sneaky.

Zatland approached a phone store, then hide in the crowd outside the place. He waited across the street for two minutes, then left.

Zatland approached a new store five minutes later and cased the place from outside for a few minutes. He kept switching in between places, Between five stores.

He paid attention to the people going in an out of the stores. Many of them only entering to browse around.

Phone stores were local government condoned businesses, only a few people were allowed to run one based on their connections, and they were all allowed to set a base price on network access. To the current space base, there were only five companies which held a monopoly on the market for Iron lake base and the several other space inhabitants and ships in the area. Five competitive highly advertised companies, Zatland kept visiting all five of them.

He knew it wouldn't be long before Isaac caught up to him. Or laid a trap for him.

He needed somebody to buy a phone and watch set before Issac got ahead of him. But all of these places normally only sold about a few phones sets a day, And their security was too great, that he couldn't steal from the store directly.

In thirty minutes Zatland had visited every store, and not come out any better for it.

Isaac was probably already waiting for him in ambush, and he was probably missing chances to steal, because he couldn't stay still.

Zatland visited another store again and lingered for several minutes longer there. Before leaving.

Isaac hadn't shown up.

More proof that Isaac was hunting him slowly.

Zatland went back to the same store again and waited there for ten minutes this time. He was just waiting outside so he could escape at any moment.

Then he left the area.

A few blocks away Isaac was watching Zatland though some cameras while waiting in ambush. He was also paying attention to Zion as well.

He had made up his mind not to move in unless Zatland entered a store for more than 15 minutes or approached his area of ambush.

Zion kept moving around like a headless chicken looking for Zatland. He was still far off from accidentally spotting his friend.

So far in this game of cat and mouse, Issac still held all the cards, In fact; if it weren't for all these people on the streets, he would have captured Zatland sooner.

This is how the school made the test fair, by putting civilians in the way. He couldn't get too rowdy and use all his ability in the crowd.

He was only allowed to shoot through the crowd because of his level of marksmanship.

Now it was up to luck, would Zatland stumble into his trap, enter a store, or get lucky and find someone who just bought a cellphone.

If only Issac could lay down traps. It would be so much easier.

Meanwhile, Zatland took out one of the tools he had recreated. The tool was shaped like a gun and had a sparking cartridge loaded into it. The other end had an attachment like a plug.

This tool was made with Isaac in mind specifically. It had three functions just to keep him at bay.

But the other two functions needed to be programmed. That's why Zatland was suddenly in need of a powerful computer.

Oh...wait? Didn't he already have a powerful computer in his backpack?
