"About B.... It was one evening around 2006, I had visited M's home for the first time. M would often tell me about his brothers... And that evening I had finally met them. They were as annoying as M had described. I stayed there for a week.... I was sad that I had to part from him and glad at the same time that I'll be away from his brothers. In 2007, my home schooling started. And they also came to learn with me. Since then we have lived together. And with time I got used to them", he finished.
"That's it?? That's the ending?" I exclaimed in confusion.
If it's the ending then, I definitely have been scammed by him. I told him so much, and he just told me this little. I demand a refund, hump!!!
"Yeah, that's all", he replied, pretending to focus on the speech again. The 5th spoken person is giving speech right now.
"So, you were home schooled?" I asked.
"Yeah".
"Why?"
"Oh, that's a very big story",
"I'm all ears", I said grinning from ear to ear.
"Okay, so... I was 5 years old when I was admitted into a kindergarten. In the first week, I was targeted by a bully. One day, in the first week, he was angry and at that moment he ran into me. He started venting his anger on me. A few moments later he pushed me and my head bumped into the bench and instantly started bleeding. Teachers called in our parents.... My mom was super angry. She was so angry that she could execute that kids whole family for generations. But my dad interrupted. And told my mom to look at the greater picture. She didn't listen and left home with me. After that incident, it was as if, my mom had PTSD. She was afraid of sending me to another school. As a solution, my dad opened an academy for me to study in it. Academy is the word that they used instead of home schooling. And yeah, that's how it was", he clapped his hands together at the end of his sentence.
I've been noticing that his face lits up every time he talks about his family, specially his mom. He must have had loved her a lot. I wonder what happened.....
The dress that he got me is really convenient. I can use it as a top and also as a night gown. So it's super handful for me. The after party started around 15 minutes after the seminar ended. These people are really rushing into everything. I don't understand what's this rush is about. All the alumni of most of the majors are here, I guess. And I'm really praying hard that I don't run into someone from Psychology major. Yeah you are right, I shouldn't be worried. But I was forced to attend the last meeting of psychologist society, also might I add, I was really highlighted, of course for being a member of DT. I really don't want Raidan to find out about my actual major. I don't know why but professor Kim has asked me to keep my major as a secret. I'm just following his order.
"Hey, why's your glass empty?"
a man from the left corner of the ballroom approached me. Acting as if we've known each other throughout our lives. I glanced at him once and then looked back to look at my phone screen. He's a man in his early 30s. Looks fine, just his color is white. I don't have anything against color. But I don't really fancy his color. He's wearing a glass and a suit, shirt tucked in. He's giving away the vibe of success. While in reality he's afraid that people will find out about his, whatever problem is going on, in his life. Yeah, I got all of that from one glance, don't forget, I'm a psychologist. I acted as if I didn't understand that he had called me.
"Hey, miss beautiful... May I know your name?" that same guy asked approaching me even close.
I rolled my eyes at the thought that now I had to deal with him. Because I'm really not in the mood. I was reading an article before he interrupted me. This article is really important because it is the article about the announcement of the internationals. We've been really looking forward to this and I was just about to read the venue before he called out. And now I've been interrupted by this boring man. I bet he couldn't find anyone to talk with, that's why he's here to kill his time.
"Me??" I asked narrowing my eyes, pointing my index finger at me.
"Yes", he said making a sign with his eyes that I didn't appreciate.
"You....Do I....Umm...Do I know you??" I asked, hoping that he would go away, if I pretend to be indifferent to him. But he's like a leech, trying to suck my energy.
"I'm Tedd, from social science school 2017-2018. Hold on, I know you. You are D from DT, right", he said.
Right, DT, my image. I must take care of that. I can't lose my reputation because of a dirt bag like him. But I don't want to talk to him either.
"Right, umm... social science?? Good. Ok, so now if you will excuse me", I started walking away but he halted me by holding out a hand. I looked at him from the corner of my eyes.
"Can I get your number?" he asked and when I gave him a look he added, "don't get me wrong, I want to sponsor to your club".
"I'm sorry but I am not in charge of these things. If you really want to sponsor then you could talk with Steve, the man over there in a gray suit also I can give you Mr. Kim's number. He's in the committee of DT", I said to him with a polite smile after pointing towards Steve.
"SOS", I texted Raidan. Because I knew that he isn't going to go anytime soon. A moment later Raidan came to my rescue. This is probably the first time he's came to my rescue. And it felt really good, it felt as if I finally had someone to rely on. He approached us, and stood beside me. His left hand is on my waist, I mean that's what it seemed like but to be honest I could barely feel his hand on me.
"Tedd, long time no see!!! How are you doing??" Raidan said to Tedd as he extended his hand for a handshake.
"R, it's been a while. I'm doing fine. Tell me about you", Tedd replied to him.
"Good, really good. I'm having the best time. So, love, what were you talking about?" he said.
And I was like looking around in confusion wondering about whom he addressed as 'love'. But then he looked at me. And in my head i was thinking 'oh, so he called me as love', no wonder that it sounded so good.
"Oh, umm... Mr. Tedd, here were asking for my number because he wants to sponsor for DT", I replied like an intelligent being.
"That's so sweet of you Tedd. Thank you", Raidan said to Tedd but I couldn't be sure if he actually meant what he said.
"Hold on, you both???" he asked looking in between us.
"What love, didn't you tell him about us??"
"We not close enough to share this type of personal informations" I half heartedly said.
"Right, actually Tedd, she's my fiance".
"Great, like... really...Oh look who that is!! It's Harry. I'll go and meet him. It was nice talking with you both", he left, his face looked as if embarrassed.
"Who's he??" I asked Raidan looking at the person Tedd just shaked his hand with.
"That's Harry Kenn. He's the eldest son of the Kenn family".
"The Kenn family?? Are they famous??"
"One of the most elite families of Boston. Hey, you know his younger brother..."
"I do??" I asked narrowing my eyes.
"Yeah, Nil, your friend".
"Right, his surname is also Kenn".
"But Harry Kenn!?? It sounds so funny. In my native language we call lantern as harry Kenn. Don't it sounds so same??" I asked as with a chuckle.
"It actually does", he looked surprised.
"By the way, here's something for you", he said holding out a small jewellery box in front of me.
"What's this?" I asked being surprised.
He didn't say anything. He gestured me to open the box and see for myself. I opened the box, and to my surprise it was something I should have expected but I didn't due to my lack ness of experience in this criteria. But surprisingly he knows. I could not help but smile.
