All eyes turned to Ilay, who raised her hands in a gesture of surrender. "I can talk to the man, but you should all know by now that Erkin does what he thinks is best—I share the man's bed, not his thoughts."

"Is there any immediate danger, Yasemin?" Erden asked, leaning closer and resting her forehead against her daughter's temple.

"I don't know, Mother. We could be in danger, but it doesn't feel like it. Not yet. I had a sense that the Children of Bhalot were coming to our home, but it was still half a day or more before they arrived."

"Is there any way to sense danger approaching, Yasemin?" Sait inquired.

Min hesitated for a moment before shaking her head once again.

"Unfortunate," he murmured, a look of concern on his face. "As I mentioned, I'll speak to the Chieftain about this. We'll be breaking camp soon, so if you sense anything else, be sure to speak up."

"I will."

Sait smiled, exchanged a glance with Erden, and then left the tent.

"We're already moving?" Min asked.
