章節 20: What is their purpose?

To own such a car one must at least have a few million they are willing to throw, this is something he can be sure of due to having some research on the topic. He once wanted to also own one, and be like everyone else, but he realized that the dreams and reality were not aligning. In this moment though, it was not that important.

He was planing to go ahead and spend the time guiding the clone to head deeper in the sea and hunt for more prey, but now that someone seemed to have come to this place he had to atleast know what it was that they wanted.

As he walked he seemed to pay attention to the car, but did not show it. Once he was a few meters from the car, the back door seemed to open, and a woman could be seen sitting with some plaster on the neck and an arm support too. It was a through the arm had fractured from some accident and he could already recognize the other party but decided to not mention anything about it at the moment.

He was not sure why this person came this place, because what he did in the morning was not considered important.

But the rich have weird ways of looking at things as such he did not want to get too involved in their craziness.

"Cheng Shan you are a very difficult person to get hold of. Even after trying to contact you all this time your phone number did not seem to get through." the woman spoke softly, but he did not feel any kind of kindness from those words. It seemed as though she was talking to her subordinates at the company.

He did frown slightly, after all he did not like this tone, he had quit working under others and it somewhat seemed to irritate him when he listened, but decided to not dwell on it.

"What do you want from me?" He went straight to the point while still holding onto the large fish. The smell of fish was indeed not something the woman was used to, as such she did not leave the car. It was the best way to keep away from it.

"I am slightly recovered from the accident and decided to pass by and express my gratitude. My old man said he had already offered you some reward but it was good to come in person and offer my sincere thanks." She could see that he did not even change the expression on his face.

"Oh!" this was what Cheng Shan replied before he finally put the fish down.

"I doubt you traveled all the way from the city to this place just for that, what do you want from me?" he asked again.

"Indeed, you are not that easy to fool. If you had the chance to sign the employment contract again perhaps you would be able to gain that promotion and even get a permanent employment contract. How about it?" She seemed to be helping him, but he was not moved in the slightest.

Perhaps back then he would be impressed and even bow several times before her, but now he was not interested in working for anyone.

More than just that, he had already lost interest in some things such as fighting for promotion, and the rich usually do not offer anyone anything just for free.

Sure enough, just as he had thought, "How about it, you just have to accept completing some task for me. Considering you have lived in this village as a child this task would be easy for you." She said after a slight pause.

But Cheng Shan looked at her, without even a change in expression.

"Sorry. Not interested," he replied calmly even without finding out what she wanted because he was indeed not interested. He could also tell that this woman had some background and probably even the company he had worked in had something to do with her.

But that did not seem to change his decision at all. He lost that drive and what he was after was something else, in which only he could help himself with.

"Are you not going to think about it!" She spoke softly too but did not get a reply.

Seeing how he was looking at her without any change in expression she picked up a card and dropped it, "That is my business card after thinking about it you can contact me."

When the car she was in turned around and left, he was the only one standing in the courtyard. Picking up the card, he looked at it and sure enough, it had a connection with the company he worked for. But he did not care about it, as he crushed it under his hands.

"Let's prepare dinner before thinking about anything else. This fish seems tasty." as he walked towards the house, he did not forget to observe the car that was disappearing in the distance.

In the car, the woman seemed to have some serious expression, and other than the driver, another woman seemed to be sitting opposite of her, and even Cheng Shan did not pay attention when they were in the courtyard just now.

"Cai, why did you come all this way, I can tell that you did not even want to give that man an opportunity to enter the company but confirm something. Did you get what you wanted?" The woman asked.

But Gao Cai seemed to shake her head, "I thought it was related to the person that I came to see that day, before having an accident, but it seems to be impossible, that is especially when I looked through the information about him. Now that I have met him personally I can be sure he is indeed not related at all. But the strange thing is that the files showed that he had some medical issues, but standing before him seemed to give me the sensation a huge beast was standing before me. That sense of oppression was especially true when he cast his gaze on me."

The woman seemed relieved, "I had to come up with something to say, and that issue of wanting him to work at the company just came up. It was not easy to accomplish, considering he seemed to have cut off contact with the company. This is a sign he had made this decision a long time ago and had no plans of going back."

The car moved further into the distance, and Cheng Shan seemed to have even pushed the issue at the very back of his mind. He did not bother with it considering it was less important to him.
