We stayed glued to the spot, I hold Amelia closer to me. My heart thumps loudly against my chest, as the dark figure walked into the house. I couldn't make out the face of the person, but they were larger as they covered up the door. Was this the day I die? In this pathetic, sad house? With my baby watching? Would the person at least spear her? 

I closed my eyes, using all my strength to not breakdown. The heavy footsteps were getting closer. 

"Vanessa!" My eyes flew opened when I heard the bastards voice

"You son of bitch!" I yell, pissed he scared me. Marching forward only to stiffen on my second step when I saw the gun in his hands. 

"Put that away!" I shield Amelia, glaring at the gun Xavier was pointing directly at us. 

"What the hell are you doing here?" I questioned. He just hanged up a few minutes ago, it would have taken him thirty minutes to drive here.
