As soon as the Destroyer armor appeared, it immediately launched indiscriminate attacks on the surrounding civilians.
Fortunately, the battle-hardened citizens of New York had strong self-preservation instincts. Seeing the armor appear, they instinctively hid behind nearby shelters, reacting as quickly as well-trained soldiers.
Even with the Destroyer's terrifying firepower, it could only blow up a few cars parked along the road to demonstrate its presence.
After all, the Destroyer was not here to massacre civilians; it had a more important mission.
Its objective was clear: kill Thor before he could pick up Mjolnir again, preventing him from thwarting Loki's plan to completely destroy Jotunheim.
After destroying a few obstructing cars, the Destroyer headed straight for the direction of Pym Labs.
At that moment, Thor was in a villa opposite the lab, pounding his chest and stamping his feet as he watched the battle between Clark and Laufey on the TV screen, wishing he could immediately grab Mjolnir and join his Uncle Clark in fighting this formidable enemy.
Unfortunately, he had lost all his powers, and his beloved hammer wouldn't even acknowledge him, leaving him feeling like a hero in decline, a tiger fallen to the plains.
Seeing his dejected state, Jane Foster, who knew his true identity, comforted him, while Sif silently put on her armor, ready to intervene at any moment.
In fact, if Clark hadn't specifically instructed her to protect Thor during this time, the warrior woman would have already charged out with her sword to fight Laufey.
The broadcast on the TV changed, no longer showing the peak battle between Clark and Laufey but a metallic giant that had suddenly appeared on the New York battlefield. "Breaking news: Following the appearance of several blue giants, a metallic giant, suspected to be a high-tech product, is now rampaging through the streets of New York. Military and relevant department personnel have been dispatched and are expected to arrive at the scene in five minutes."
"The location of this iron giant is… Residents living nearby are advised to take shelter immediately to avoid unnecessary casualties."
As the reporter sped through the report, Thor stood up from the sofa, his expression grave, "It's the Destroyer!"
Although Jane Foster didn't recognize the Destroyer, she was more familiar with New York's geography than Thor and Sif. Seeing the direction the Destroyer was moving, she immediately said anxiously, "Damn, that thing is heading this way!"
"It's Loki; he's targeting Thor!" Sif, the super warrior, quickly understood the situation and said without hesitation, "I'll stop it!"
Seeing Sif's attitude of 'you continue flirting, I'll go fight the Destroyer,' Thor's pride was hit hard.
He felt that as the sole heir of Asgard, he must stand up and face everything he should.
Thus, after Sif left the villa, Thor grabbed Jane's shoulders, "This is all because of me; I cannot run away. Jane, take care of yourself and don't worry about me."
With that, he stood up and walked towards the villa's door with a heroic stride.
Thor, now just a mortal, couldn't match Sif's speed, but the U.S. military and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents arrived even faster.
These forces didn't have Clark's instant teleportation ability, Tony's quick-change suits for supersonic travel, or the geographical advantage of being close to the incident like Captain America and his team.
But they had their own advantage: the early bird catches the worm.
These groups had been heading this way since the Frost Giants arrived and didn't stop even when Clark lured them away.
Superheroes don't handle cleanup, but it's their undeniable responsibility.
Thus, they missed the Frost Giants' rampage but arrived just in time to intercept the Destroyer.
Leading the military was Secretary of State Ross, who had left the army but still held significant influence.
Upon seeing the steel behemoth, Ross immediately took a megaphone from his subordinate and shouted at the Destroyer, "Tony Stark, your actions are criminal. I order you to come out of the machine and surrender for investigation!"
Since Iron Man's debut, any similar appearance has been attributed to him.
Now, Ross naturally blamed Tony without his knowledge.
"Secretary Ross, you are mistaken." S.H.I.E.L.D. agents arrived, with Agent Coulson saying, "Tony Stark is currently in his Iron Man suit, fighting the blue giants over the Pacific. This creature is not him. Get out of the way; it's about to attack!"
"Boom!"
The "face" of the Destroyer split, and a thick energy beam shot out, destroying the cars used for cover.
Fortunately, Coulson and Ross, experienced veterans, dodged in time, avoiding instant death by the Destroyer.
Their quick evasion saved them, but the soldiers and low-level agents they brought weren't so lucky. Another energy beam from the Destroyer killed three soldiers and an agent.
Ross immediately ordered a counterattack, but their pistols, machine guns, and even rocket launchers were no match for the Destroyer's armor.
The Destroyer advanced, attacking relentlessly. Another round of punches and energy beams inflicted heavy losses on the military and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
They fulfilled their role as extras, demonstrating the enemy's strength.
"Ha-ya!"
As S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and soldiers were overwhelmed, Sif descended from the sky with a shout, her 40-meter sword piercing the Destroyer's neck and pinning it to the ground in a 90-degree bow.
Seeing this, the battered military and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents cheered.
But then...
"Boom!" Sif was blown into a nearby commercial building by the Destroyer's elbow.
The cheering stopped abruptly as the extras saw the Destroyer pull the sword from its neck and discard it.
Sif's seemingly decisive blow hadn't inflicted any real damage on the creature.
How could they defeat such a terrifying enemy? Despair settled in again among the military and agents.
Only Iron Man or Clark Lee might stand a chance against such a foe.
"Damn creature, daring to slaughter in New York. Prepare for punishment, Rückenwind Lance!" With a shout, a smaller female armor descended from the sky, her energy spear shining brightly, raining down a volley of spears on the Destroyer.
"Ding! Ding! Ding!..."
The girl in the armor struck over a hundred times in an instant, each hit leaving a three-inch deep hole in the Destroyer's armor.
After a hundred strikes, the Destroyer's chest resembled a sieve, its bright orange energy core visible.
The Destroyer staggered back, severely damaged and unstable.
"Nicely done!" Sif, returning to the scene, saw this and gave the girl in armor a thumbs up.
She was impressed by the armored girl's skill, realizing Midgard had more formidable warriors than just Clark Lee and Iron Man.
Coulson, dodging the Destroyer's first attack, asked, "Are you Miss Eris?"
"Of course not." The armor's visor opened, revealing Mindy's spirited face.
Mindy, in the Queen's Knight armor, wasn't just operating a drone; she was a powerful combination with the armor.
Winking at Coulson, Mindy used centrifugal force to integrate her strength with the armor's kinetic energy, launching a devastating blow at the Destroyer's chest.
"Boom!"
The Destroyer fell, unable to stand any longer.
Mindy, standing tall, told Coulson and Ross, "With Clark Brother away, I'll protect New York today!"
Her cute appearance, slight frame, formidable strength, and bold words combined seamlessly, leaving a lasting impression on everyone watching.
