I was beginning to feel better, to put away all of the drama that happened between me, Orion, and Kieran.

Harriet was still trying to persuade me to go on blind dates, but I didn't have the energy to deal with a man. 

So I continued to refuse her persistent offers, and with time, she stopped pestering me.

Life was beginning to be good to me again.

Father was still not talking to me, but there was a slight softness in his countenance towards me now.

Life was good. Life was getting better.

But it seemed that the universe was determined to always throw a wrench in my wheels of my life.

It was my day off from work, and I was spending the day with my son as planned.

Noah had wanted to go to the amusement pack, and he was off riding the rollercoaster while I waited — I wasn't a fan of heights — when someone familiar caught my eyes.

My heart skipped a beat as I took him in.
