章節 1: The Airport

I stood at the window watching planes take off and land. We had been at the boarding gate for an hour but apparently the plane was having some sort of issue, I looked over at my friend Marci who was fiddling with her smartphone probably texting her boyfriend back home about the delay. Marci's boyfriend was going to pick us up when we got back home to the States.

I loved our over seas travel, the fun girl times we had site seeing in touristy and sometimes forbidden places. A smile comes to face as I remember when we tried to sneak into the palace of the desert king Harrid Manuush. We had concealed ourselves as some of the servants and had just gotten into grounds when it was found we didn't belong there, who knows if it was our way of walking or the wide eyed wonder that was on Marci's face just seeing the forbidden gardens but we were ushered out by security very quick. We left the capital that day and took a tour with a friendly desert tribe, that was just two weeks ago.

"Hey Marci were you able to reach Derek" I asked turning away from the window.

She just shook her head. "Sorry Kitten I haven't heard back." With a shrug of her shoulders she went back to staring at her phone.

Kitten, Marci is the only one I ever let call me that. My actual name is Katrina Manchester, most people call me Kat but not Marci from the first day we met back in grade school she said I was more like a kitten always getting into trouble but too cute to stay mad at.

My ears perked up when the boarding call was being made, finally we were about to head home. I was reaching down to grab my carry-on and had my head down looking through my bag for my boarding pass so I didn't see the face Marci made right before someone grabbed me. "You're coming with us" are the words I heard before being dragged away from a frantic Marci by two guys in suits.
