"What are you guys waiting for? Dig in!" I encouraged.
Slowly, they began to take part in our little feast. The jugs of beer were slowly downed. And by the time we had our fill, I knew it was opportune for a game.
I clapped my hands together to get their attention. "Gentlemen—why don't we play a game?" I suggested. Nobles, commoners—people still like games, right?
"What for?"
"To get to know one another."
"What need is there for us to know one another?" Alva retorted. I looked at him with a small smirk.
"Why the timid spurning, Alva? Scared of a little challenge? Or are you just bad with games?" I roused.
"Your attempt at setting one's cap is terrible."
I blinked. What now?
"What game?" Dustan piped up just in time to save me from the embarrassment that was beginning to settle in.
