“Sophisticated name! Hah!” It elicited more laughter from the woman and this time it was louder. “She lacked even the most elementary knowledge of a civilized person and yet you’re speaking the word sophistication to clothe her. “You’re proving that you’re really that stupid.” She picked out a pack of cigarette from her purse and crumpled it with her hand when she found out that it was already empty. “You owe me one,” she said. A palm was stretched out in front of me. I reluctantly obliged. She snatched the bill from my hand after I pulled it out from my pocket and went to a cigarette vendor on the corner. I was still very nice to her after all her insults. I was not angry at her, instead I felt a tinge of pity for her.
Our conversation had become so interesting and at times entertaining that I was so engrossed talking to her and nearly forgot the approaching time for my engagement with Dordo. I took a glance at my watch and it was nearly time for Dordo’s appearance.
