Tang Lin still couldn't figure out if he had turned into a giant or if this world had shrunk in scale. The dwarves in front of him, each only the size of a fingernail, were probably the ones who had summoned him.
Tang Lin hurriedly squatted down and took out his phone to start taking photos and videos. Whether a fire dragon would fly out and burn him later or not, taking a picture first was a modern cultural habit to calm the nerves.
But this action seemed too big, and the wind pressure caused the dwarves to sway wildly, with the skinnier ones getting blown over directly.
"Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to," Tang Lin apologized awkwardly.
As soon as he opened his mouth, many dwarves covered their ears and started rolling on the ground, obviously hurt by Tang Lin's voice.
Tang Lin was helpless. He hadn't imagined that when life became smaller, it would become so fragile. How could he communicate? He worried that talking a bit too loudly might give these dwarves a concussion.
As he pondered how to lower his voice to chat with them, he saw a white-haired dwarf crawl to his feet, shouting something at him.
The voice was too soft, and Tang Lin could only vaguely hear a few words. When he opened the translation app, he realized... Oh no, the Different World had no signal. This app needed internet access to recognize voices.
Unable to communicate, Tang Lin considered using the most primitive gestures to communicate with these little people. Suddenly, he heard a slight tapping sound. As this sound reached them, the dwarves seemed to panic, all looking toward a specific location.
Following their gaze, Tang Lin discovered a gap in the mountainside resembling a cave entrance. As the tapping sound became clearer, a group of fully armed monsters charged out from the gap!
These monsters rushing into the valley had pale skin, twisted and ugly features, and various body paints and scars, making them appear extremely ferocious.
From this appearance, they were clearly half-orcs, the enemies Tang Lin needed to deal with.
Tang Lin suddenly understood. No wonder the system said the task difficulty was super easy; these half-orcs were like bugs in front of Tang Lin.
All these thoughts spun through Tang Lin's mind without taking much time, as the half-orcs had just charged into the valley.
They didn't look up, failing to notice the giant towering into the clouds—Tang Lin—and instead howled as they attacked the dwarves.
Tang Lin wanted to protect the dwarves, but how should he defeat this group of half-orcs?
The space was too narrow, making it hard to step without trampling the dwarves. Using his hand... what a disgusting feeling.
Tang Lin reached out, broke off a piece of "boulder" from the surrounding rock face, resembling a wedge with two crooked trees on it. Without trimming it, he used the boulder to crush the half-orcs.
Although the half-orcs were quite fast, they were just like ants compared to Tang Lin the giant. With a boulder striking down, one half-orc turned into a meat paste.
Honestly, it felt disgusting, akin to squashing a cockroach.
The sudden and terrifying attack startled the excited half-orcs, and only then did they look up to see such a fearsome giant in the valley, previously mistaking its massive shadow for a peculiarly shaped mountain.
This giant ripped the mountain's peak off as a weapon, crushing them one by one, much like how they squashed ants when bored. The once sharp rock got stained red with blood, slowly worn smooth, eventually mixing with flesh and bone fragments, transforming into a terrifying weapon feared by the half-orcs.
In the few seconds of stunned horror, Tang Lin had already crushed several half-orcs, although it appeared insignificant against their numbers of over a hundred.
This gruesome death didn't incite fear in the half-orcs. Instead, the remaining ones ferociously charged at Tang Lin.
The height difference between them was so vast that the half-orcs could only attack Tang Lin's feet. The ferocious weapons barely cut shallow wounds on his slippers, and those using blunt weapons like iron hammers fared worse, getting bounced back by the springy rubber, battering themselves bloody.
However, these were slippers, and Tang Lin's toes had many unprotected areas. The half-orc weapons cut several small wounds there.
Though most were just scratches, with no blood even drawn, the pain made Tang Lin jump.
Looking at the wounds on his feet, Tang Lin roared angrily, "Damn it, die!"
The colossal sound wave stunned many half-orcs, and Tang Lin then lifted his leg and stomped down hard. A series of squishing sounds followed, large patches of blood spraying out from under his foot.
Thanks to the solid ground inside the valley, otherwise, it wouldn't have been crushing; it would've buried them in the earth. At least twenty half-orcs got crushed under that stomp.
Then Tang Lin swung both arms, grabbing rocks and smashing them chaotically, reducing most of the half-orcs to pulp.
Yet, the half-orcs were too numerous to kill off completely. More soon poured into the valley entrance. Among them were archers who aimed at Tang Lin and started shooting arrows.
Most of the half-orc arrows merely stuck to Tang Lin's trousers, like stalks of grass. However, Tang Lin realized these half-orcs weren't easy to deal with. His current squatting position made him vulnerable to an eye injury from those arrows if he wasn't careful.
Moreover, some half-orcs had circled around Tang Lin to chase the dwarves.
There were only about forty dwarves, while the half-orcs numbered over a hundred. In a real fight, the dwarves would suffer heavy casualties.
Tang Lin realized he couldn't remain passive anymore. These half-orcs scattered around like bugs, and though he was massive, he lacked any real area-attack ability, making the killings inefficient.
Hence, Tang Lin extended his hand toward the dwarves.
There was no need for verbal communication; the dwarves jumped onto Tang Lin's palm one after another. Forty-odd dwarves perfectly filled Tang Lin's palm, and then he carefully stood up, enduring the half-orcs' attacks on his feet, gently placing the dwarves into his coat pocket.
The coat pocket was spacious enough for all the dwarves to squeeze inside. With no more worries weighing on him, Tang Lin sneered at the group of still-yapping half-orcs.
"I'll let you hack my feet! I'll let you shoot at my trousers!"
Tang Lin desperately started grabbing the mountain rocks around, causing countless boulders and mud, mixed with trees, to tumble down. This was a man-made avalanche, covering a vast area leaving the half-orcs with nowhere to hide.
