Cyril was embarrassed. But Abbertus had misunderstood everything Cyril had done. It wasn't that he agreed to the marriage proposal or joined Abbertus' camp. Cyril was just too lazy to deal with Abbertus' behavior and thought ignoring him was the right choice. 

"I didn't know he thought it was a deal!" Cyril was sorry for not being smart. 

"That's why I'm worried about letting you into the nobility alone. You're too easily manipulated and even too reluctant to speak your mind. Even though it doesn't matter!" General Adelman pointed at Cyril right in front of his face.
