Instead of taking the donuts offered by her daughter, Briana just stared in wonder at some of the donuts on the plate. It's obvious that the food was made by an amateur.

"Where did you get these donuts? They don't look good. When did you buy them?" Briana asked in surprise as she picked up a donut and watched it intently.

"You want to know where I got these donuts from?" Ellena seemed to lift the donut plate up and immediately responded with a nod of her head by her mother.

"I got these donuts from Lucas, Ma'am. Look, he's really smart, isn't he?"

"You mean your husband made these donuts?" Briana asked looking in disbelief.

"Yeah. Last night I wanted to eat a strawberry donut and Lucas made it for me." Ellena immediately grinned awkwardly while scratching the back of her neck that didn't itch.

Briana now understands her daughter-in-law's strange behavior and why Ellena is laughing like that.
