That subtle smile remained on Storm's face even as they arrived and walked into the elevator. He felt elated for reasons he couldn't even point out.

But Ellie, once again was calculating. She felt it was too easy for the policemen to just believe her made-up story and leave than alone like that. Something told her Storm was responsible for that, and she wondered how he was doing it.

Standing between two vampires, her eyes veered to the right to find Seth looking ahead with a blank expression. He had not spoken a word for a long time, and she wondered what was going on in his head.

Shifting her eyes to the left, her pair of blue met with Storm's dark grey ones. Realizing he was also looking at her, she looked away immediately.

"You lied. Why?" Storm's voice echoed.

"Huh?" Ellie pretended not to hear what he said.

"Why did you lie to the police about what happened that day?"
