I said, 'Okay, I will be there,' my voice barely above a whisper, as if I was trying to convince myself of the uncertain fate that lay ahead.

As I heard the footsteps fading away from the main door, I knew the maid had left, leaving me to my thoughts. The silence was oppressive, and I felt a shiver run down my spine.

After exiting the bathroom, I began to dress, my hands moving mechanically as I put on a crisp white shirt and black pants. I longed to wear something more comfortable, but the limited wardrobe of my host, Riyan, offered little choice. The clothes felt restrictive, like a second skin, but I had no option but to make do.

I turned to face the speaker, and my eyes widened as I took in the beauty of Livia Descartes, Riyan's twin elder sister. Her black hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, and her blue eyes sparkled like sapphires. I recognized her instantly, the villainess of the novel 'Saint's Odessy.' Her obsession with Riyan had driven her to madness, and I knew I had to tread carefully around her.

I gently extricated myself from her embrace, and her face fell, a fleeting expression of sadness crossing her features. But she quickly recovered, her smile returning like the sun breaking through the clouds.
