章節 33: Chapter 32 - The Village Shrouded in Ice

More than three months past since the Uzu clan joined Ernie's village. During this time the Kizamaru clan kept expanding forcing smaller clans to flee, and when they relocated around Ernie's village him or Aito went to talk to them.

There were currently ten clans inside the village now, and it was starting to shape up. Looking less like a village and more like a small town.

The population was currently 168 people total, which was a high number but due to the quality of people residing in the village, their fighting potential was only 55. Ernie would not allow anyone the age thirteen and under fight, and he would not allow them to be sent to the battlefield if they did not meet certain requirements.

People were glad that they didn't have to fight and happy that some of their children wouldn't be forced to either. Life was good here in his village.

In the center of the town, the marketplace was built and branching from it were small shops. One family even built a small inn for any visitors they might get.

As for how people bought supplies, Aito and Ernie came up with 'Ryo' which was made from multiple materials and had a specialized imprint on it. Inside of green the money was light blue in color.

It was hard for people to forge due to its unique nature and currently, it took both Ernie and Aito working together to make it. Aito made the paper which was used and Ernie did the imprinting.

They dispersed the money to all of the clans, giving each of them two thousand Ryo each. How they distributed it after would depend on them.

Aito and Ernie sparred with each other almost daily, with Ernie always coming out on top. He limited himself to using only certain techniques or limiting the usage of his chakra. It wasn't because Aito was weak that he did this, he was just trying to improve those skills of his while also managing his chakra better.

Sometimes Yui joined them as well as she did not want to be left behind in terms of strength. There were a few other people in the village who wanted to have a friendly match with anyone they thought was strong or around their strength.

After some time Ernie decided they would have a weekly competition, where the winner would receive 200 Ryo, and all the participants had a chance to win some money as well.

This led to the villagers building an arena. It wasn't anything too spectacular, but it did just fine. It was a large ring with a lot of benches around it allowing people to spectate.

Aside from training, developing the village, and interacting with the people, Ernie has also taken a few trips outside the village. Either alone or with someone else to undertake a few missions.

Sadly he heard no word from Hina or Himari and he was slowly missing the two of them. He thought about visiting them and even tried, but he couldn't find the lake where they were at. He swore he knew the exact location, but whenever he tried he ended up back where he started. Soon he gave up.

As for Nija, he found out she was a bit of a troublemaker.

She used her childish charms to swindle people for money. At first it was funny, but now he realized this little girl was making a lot of money off the gullible people in the village.

Sometimes she'd even take an apple off a stand and eat it.

Ernie could only shake his head.

Today, Ernie was standing at the entrance to the village, overlooking the construction of watch towers. Next to him was Aito who had his arms crossed.

"We've come a long way."

Aito commented.

Ernie nodded.

"It doesn't feel like it, but things are finally taking shape."

"At first I thought your dream would be just that, a dream. But now, I can watch it become a reality. I never knew one could have so much joy just from watching things change. From a small group, to over a hundred people! Look how much we've developed in this short amount of time, and the best thing is no one knows we are here."

Aito said with a smile on his face.

"There is still much to do, this is only the beginning. The Kamizuru and Itaku clan are basically one now, and are trying to fight against the Maru clan. While they are fighting towards the south, the Kizamaru clan is devouring the north. Every day they clash and lose people they grow weaker, but every day we seem to gain a new person and grow stronger."

Ernie said and Aito agreed.

"I just hope we run into the Uchiha clan once, it really bugs me that I can not avenge my father."

"I always tell you, in a dark place we find ourselves, and a little more knowledge lights the way."

Aito chuckled.

"And yet I still have no idea what you mean."

"It has many meanings, but the true meaning is only something you yourself can figure out as you are the one who knows yourself the best."

Aito shook his head.

"I don't know where you get all this wisdom from while only being twelve."

"Thirteen!"

Ernie corrected him.

His birthday passed a while ago, so he was one year older now.

"Yes, yes, thirteen."

Aito said in a playful tone.

Looking over his shoulder towards the village, he smiled before he looked at Ernie.

"We can't always call it the village, it needs a proper name. What do you suggest?"

Ernie was shocked for a moment.

"Why are you asking me?"

"Well, you are the founder so it's only right you name the place."

Ernie rubbed his hairless chin as he thought about it. From what he could remember, every village in naruto had the world 'hidden' in it. He wanted to keep that trend going, but what could define them?

"How about, Village Shrouded in Ice?"

Aito repeated that name a few times.

"I like it! But, we aren't hidden by ice."

Ernie grinned.

"At least not yet."
