章節 62: Lunar Break

Lyra sat in her homeroom class, surrounded by the lively chatter of her classmates. The air was filled with a mix of excitement and anticipation, as students swapped alchemy tips and gossiped about the most beautiful flowers in the school gardens.

"Did you see the new batch of Crimson Roses in the courtyard?" one girl whispered, her eyes wide with admiration. "I heard they only bloom during the Lunar Break, and their petals can be used in the most potent love potions!"

Lyra smiled, enjoying the sense of camaraderie and friendship that filled the room. Despite the challenges she had faced since arriving at Ashborne Academy, she had found a true sense of belonging among her classmates, a feeling of acceptance and support that she had never known before.

Just then, the door swung open, and Professor Soren strode into the room, his face serious and his eyes glinting with a hint of excitement. The chatter died down instantly, as every student turned to face their teacher, eager to hear what he had to say.

"Good morning, everyone," Professor Soren began, his voice rich and commanding. "As you all know, the end of the semester is fast approaching, which means it's time for our annual Masquerade Ball!"

The room erupted in a chorus of cheers and applause, as students exchanged excited glances and began to whisper about their plans for the big event.

Professor Soren held up his hand, calling for quiet. "Now, I know you're all excited," he said, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "But there's something important you all need to know. The Masquerade Ball marks the beginning of Nocturnia's Lunar Break, a time when our land receives the least amount of sunlight, causing more dangerous occurrences."

Lyra felt a chill run down her spine at the professor's words. She had been so caught up in her life at the academy, in her studies and her friendships, that she had almost forgotten about the impending Lunar Break.

Professor Soren continued, his voice growing more serious. "During this time, we need volunteers to help with the preparations for the Masquerade Ball. There are various roles available, such as decorating the ballroom, helping with the music and entertainment, and even assisting with the food and refreshments."

The room buzzed with excitement once more, as students began to chatter about the different volunteer positions they could sign up for. Some wanted to showcase their artistic skills by creating stunning decorations, while others were eager to help with the logistics of the event.

Lyra's mind raced with possibilities, her heart filled with a mix of excitement and trepidation. She knew that the Masquerade Ball would be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with her friends and create lasting memories, but the thought of the Lunar Break and the potential dangers it brought made her uneasy.

Just then, one of Lyra's friends leaned over, a grin spreading across her face. "You're going to love the Masquerade Ball, Lyra," she said, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Trust me, it's an experience you'll never forget!"

Lyra couldn't help but smile at her friend's infectious energy, feeling a surge of excitement wash over her. Despite the challenges that the Lunar Break might bring, she knew that she was exactly where she was meant to be - surrounded by friends and allies, ready to face whatever came their way.

As the class continued to buzz with anticipation, Lyra felt a renewed sense of purpose filling her heart. She was determined to make the most of her time at Ashborne Academy, both by helping with the Masquerade Ball and by continuing to hone her skills as an alchemist.
