章節 35: Alchemy Fair

Lyra sat in the dining hall, her mind still buzzing with the excitement of the upcoming tournament and the possibilities of battle alchemy. As she picked at her food, lost in thought, she suddenly noticed Elias approaching her table, a warm smile on his face.

"Hey, Lyra," he said, pulling up a chair and sitting down beside her. "I've been meaning to talk to you about something."

Lyra looked up, curious. "Oh? What's on your mind, Elias?"

Elias leaned in, his voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "I know you've been hiding your true genius in alchemy, Lyra. And I think I know the perfect way for you to showcase your skills and make some new friends in the process."

Lyra's eyes widened, intrigued. "What do you have in mind?"

"The Alchemy State Fair," Elias said, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's a huge event where alchemists from all over the region come together to display their creations and compete for prizes. I think you'd be a natural fit."

Lyra felt a surge of excitement at the idea. The Alchemy State Fair sounded like the perfect opportunity to put her skills to the test and connect with other like-minded individuals. "That sounds amazing, Elias," she said, a grin spreading across her face. "I'd love to participate."

Elias beamed, clearly thrilled by her enthusiasm. "Great! I'll help you get registered and start preparing your entries."

As they continued to chat, Lyra's mind drifted back to the conversation she had overheard earlier, between Elias and the members of the resistance club. She hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should bring it up, but her curiosity got the better of her.

"Elias," she said, her voice tentative. "I've been meaning to ask you something as well. What exactly is this resistance club that you're a part of?"

Elias's smile faded, a flicker of pain crossing his face. "Ah, so you noticed," he said, his voice growing somber. "Yes, I'm part of the resistance club. It's a group of individuals who have been wronged by the Sanguine, the vampire elite that control so much of our society."

He paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "When I was young, my father was wrongfully murdered by a vampire. Ever since then, I've found it hard to trust any Sanguine. I know that not all of them are bad, but they have their own secret society, their own hidden agendas that people like us will never fully understand."

Lyra listened intently, her heart aching for the pain and anger that Elias had carried with him for so long. She reached out, placing a comforting hand on his arm. "I'm so sorry, Elias," she said, her voice filled with empathy. "I had no idea you had been through something so traumatic."

Elias managed a small smile, his hand coming up to cover hers. "Thank you, Lyra. It means a lot to have someone who understands."

They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of Elias's revelation hanging in the air between them. Then, Lyra had an idea. "You know what, Elias?" she said, a spark of excitement in her voice. "Let's do the Alchemy State Fair together. As a team."

Elias's face lit up, his eyes shining with gratitude and affection. "I'd love that, Lyra. Thank you."

Without thinking, Lyra leaned in, wrapping her arms around Elias in a tight hug. As she felt the strength of his arms and the warmth of his chest, a sense of comfort and safety washed over her. In that moment, she knew that she had found more than just a friend in Elias - she had found a true partner, someone who understood her on a deep and profound level.
