The glass fell on the sofa with a thud. It bounced slightly before the loud crash echoed in the room.

A deep frown appeared on Qin Zhan's face as he looked at the glasses on the floor. He was very sure that he was holding the glass well. How did it slip through his fingers?

Qin Zhan crouched down to pick up the shard. However, the slight pain prickling his finger made him pull his hand away. 

His lips pursed into a thin line when he saw blood dripping down his finger.

Qin Zhan stood up, wanting to tend to the wound on his finger when Gu Xin Ye's face appeared in his mind.

His heartbeat accelerated as an ominous feeling surrounded him.

Instead of putting on a bandage on his finger, Qin Zhan turned to the bed and picked up his phone on the bedside table.

Qin Zhan dialed Gu Xin Ye's number and pressed the phone against his ear.

He listened to the dial tone until the end and the call was forwarded to the voice mail.
