It was a crisp afternoon, and Dunice spotted Jeffrey waiting for her at a corner of the cozy restaurant. Work had been light for her that day because he had taken care of almost everything. With plenty of time to spare, she approached him.
"Hi, Jeffrey," Dunice greeted gingerly as she took her seat opposite him.
"Hello, Dunice. Hope you're doing well," he greeted casually.
"Yeah, I'm good, but I can't help feeling a bit tense. Why the sudden invitation, Jeffrey?" she asked, cutting to the chase.
"Nothing serious," he beamed. "What would you like to eat?" he asked.
"I'm good with water," she replied.
"Just water?" he asked to confirm.
"Yes."
He raised an eyebrow, surprised but amused.
"Sure thing."
When the waiter arrived, he placed an order for water and orange juice.
"So here," Jeffery said as he handed her a big fancy bag. It had been beside the table before, but she hadn't taken note until now.
