章節 26: Herbal Field

編輯: Dragon Boat Translation

"Yes, Little Fan is so obedient." Hua Shu smiled and patted his head. "Pick them under the shade of the trees. Don't go under the sun. I'll be back in a while. If you're obedient, I'll buy you a popsicle when we go back."

"Yes, I'll definitely be obedient." Tang Fan's eyes lit up as soon as he heard that he would get a popsicle. He nodded heavily and was elated.

"Alright, I'll be going then. Don't run around. If there's anything, call me out loud." Hua Shu was worried and reminded him again before she carried the basket and left.

She walked along the small hill and passed by a slightly larger mountain. As she walked further in, the vegetation began to flourish and the traces of human footsteps began to decrease. This was because further in was the mountain forest, and the vegetation would grow deeper. Although there were only two small hills outside, walking further in was dangerous. Hua Shu did not know how big the mountain was, but she only knew that it stretched all the way to City M, which was very near. It was a primitive forest that was rarely visited by humans.

City L and City M happened to be at the two ends of the mountain, so the government had developed the mountain forest near the city into a tourist area. However, that stretch of forest was really too large. Even if the two cities developed large areas of mountain forest, it was only one-tenth of the entire mountain range. Even the surrounding mountain forest had not been fully developed.

Moreover, the deeper one went, the more dangers there were. It was said that there had been more than one person who went missing after entering the forest. Although the government had organized a search and rescue team, they either did not find them or only found broken limbs. Therefore, the government had sealed off the undeveloped area, they had also arranged for the scenic area to be patrolled by staff to prevent anyone from encountering danger after entering the mountain without permission.

There were three hills on the periphery of the mountain that had been developed into a tourist area. The main gate of the scenic spot was only about ten minutes away from the small town, but it was in the opposite direction from the small hill. There was half an hour's distance between them. Although it was not very far, the small hill was really too small. It did not even have any value for development, so it had been abandoned. Only the nearby families would occasionally go up the mountain to pick some wild vegetables, or when they encountered a headache or fever, they would go up the mountains to pick some common herbs.

However, after passing these two hills, they would reach the forest a little further in. The deeper they went, the more dangerous it was. Even the old hunters in the past didn't dare to go too deep and only hunted wild animals on the outskirts, in this day and age, almost no one entered the forest even on the outskirts.

Hua Shu walked deeper into the forest, feeling rather uneasy. She only entered the space and arrived at the herbal field after walking deep enough to make sure that there was no one around and that it was absolutely safe.

She thought about it carefully. Ever since she obtained the space, she had been in and out of the space so many times. Every time, she would go straight to the bamboo house, or she would come to the herbal field a second time.

There were many types of medicinal herbs in the herbal field. The original owner probably planted them on purpose, but it was obvious that they were planted rather casually. They were all scattered here and there without planning at all. However, after years of self-breeding, these medicinal herbs seemed to have gained consciousness. Strangely, they each occupied an area, one next to the other, and they grew and multiplied in their respective areas.

When Hua Shu first saw this medicinal field, other than recognizing a few rare and precious medicinal herbs, she did not know anything else. However, ever since she received the contents of the pill formula, her mind had been occupied with all kinds of pill formulas, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of medicinal herbs; the current her only needed a quick glance to know the type of medicinal herbs, their year, their effects, and even what kind of pills they could refine.
