章節 83: Chapter 83: Cultivate an Invincible Heart Through Constant Failure

Silence.

A tense silence enveloped everyone. The peculiar entrance of the new teacher had successfully made every student's face twitch.

Is this really a teacher? Did he stumble into the wrong scene?

Then, the students' eyes drifted to the massive iron ruler on the ground, still buzzing. It had sunk deep into the ground, and the surrounding earth was cracked.

A teaching stick? He meant this thing? This thing could kill someone!

Seeing the crowd remain silent, the dark-faced giant nodded.

"My name is Niu Jingyu, and I'm your instructor for this first class of the new semester. Well, I can't really be called a teacher."

"I see a lot of you looking all timid and meek, which annoys me a bit. I was hoping one of you would be bold enough to challenge me."

"But this is fine too. You don't think you're just regular students, do you?"

"This place is to train warriors! Warriors who will fight against the gods!"

"If you don't want to be the first to become a corpse in the future, I suggest you start taking every day in this academy seriously and stop acting like slackers!"

Niu Jingyu took a step forward, his towering figure exerting even more pressure.

"Since none of you want to stand out and challenge me, it looks like my teaching stick won't be needed for now. Let's get straight to today's lesson."

"First question: What kind of teacher do you think I am?"

His question was met with silence.

The imposing presence of Niu Jingyu had cowed everyone into silence. None of the students thought this guy, who looked like a murderer, was actually a teacher. So, no one dared to speak up.

Niu Jingyu didn't seem surprised; it was as if he expected this. Casually, he pointed at Lyra, who stood in the front row.

"You, tell me, what kind of teacher do you think I am?"

"I believe you might be a combat instructor," Lyra answered without hesitation.

"Judging someone based on appearances is foolish, but understandable. However, you're wrong."

"I am your psychology instructor, here to give you psychological guidance."

With that, Niu Jingyu flashed a terrifying grin.

"Pretty soon, all of you will need to keep your legs straight and clench your buttholes."

"To avoid embarrassing yourselves."

As he spoke, a beautiful woman wearing glasses walked up behind him, standing quietly.

"Let me introduce you; this is the assistant instructor, Miss Xue. You can call her Teacher Xue."

"Her main job is to protect you guys later, to prevent you from turning into idiots. After all, I think highly of you, so I won't hold back."

Listening to his continuous stream of frightening words, the students couldn't help but tense up.

What the hell is going on? What is he even talking about?!

But Niu Jingyu paid no attention to whether his words were causing psychological trauma, continuing,

"I imagine many of you have had the experience of praying for good fortune, like saying 'Heaven protect me' or 'I hope the gods bless me,' when facing something like exams."

"But starting today, you're going to be cut off from that."

"Because the beings you're going to deal with are the very ones you used to pray for protection from."

"From now on, you are the 'accursed ones'! Nothing will protect you. Starting today, you must become masters of yourselves!"

"Alright, psychological guidance begins now!"

With that declaration, giving the students no time to prepare, Niu Jingyu's eyes widened, unleashing a terrifying aura that enveloped everyone.

In an instant, the air seemed to turn to liquid or even solid, making it hard to breathe.

Everyone's legs bent slightly, feeling as if they were carrying a mountain on their shoulders.

Their pupils dilated, and all they could feel was one thing: fear.

This fear seemed to have no source, no real-world trigger—it was a deep-seated terror from within their souls.

In that instant, they saw oceans, abyssal depths, and endless starry skies!

In the pitch-black ocean were vast, unfathomable creatures; the abyss yawned like a bottomless maw, devouring all life; in the starry sky above, countless crimson eyes seemed to gaze down at them!

A terror that came from the soul swallowed everyone whole, and each person could clearly hear their own rapid heartbeat.

Seeing the students' strained expressions, Niu Jingyu, expressionless, walked in a circle, continuing his lecture.

"The key ability for a superhuman isn't muscle strength, nor is it your supernatural powers; it's your inner self."

"As you are now, if you were to face a deity, you might be instantly bewitched."

"The kind of pressure that comes from deep within your soul can trigger a person's servility, making them want to kneel and worship."

"A superhuman must possess an invincible heart. Arrogance and pride are preferable to cowardice and weakness."

"But before a true deity, a high-ranking god, all beings are insignificant."

"This creates an unresolvable paradox—you must cultivate an invincible heart through constant failure!"

As he walked, Niu Jingyu's words suggested he didn't care about the students' well-being, but he carefully monitored each student's condition, watching for any changes.

Suddenly, a student grabbed his head, crouched down, and trembled like a helpless child, mumbling incoherently,

"I can't... I can't do it, no, I'm sorry..."

Niu Jingyu sighed, a hint of pity flashing in his eyes, which quickly disappeared. He loudly mocked,

"The first one to fall is a boy? What a waste of manhood."

But no one had the capacity to see who had fallen. Everyone was too busy struggling.

Ryan suddenly roared, his body expanding to a height of 2.5 meters, his blood-red tiger eyes fixed on Niu Jingyu.

Niu Jingyu looked at him, nodding with slight satisfaction, but still had harsh words to say,

"Using your powers to resist? Not bad, but you're still just putting on a brave face."

At that moment, Niu Jingyu noticed someone, someone who was behaving unusually.

He... yawned!?

Did he see that right? Who is this guy?

Why hadn't he noticed him before?!

Liam's semi-divine body granted him some resistance to this kind of pressure, and having faced a deity up close, he obviously wasn't struggling as much as the others.

Furthermore, knowing he was one of the most unique beings in the world inherently gave him a strong sense of 'invincibility.'

To avoid drawing too much attention, Liam had been using his "stealth" ability, making Niu Jingyu overlook him.

But now, that sleepy yawn had left Niu Jingyu utterly dumbfounded.
