Rachel's POV

"Shit!" I exclaimed, a palm flying to my chest at the unexpected intrusion and bright light as the switch was flipped and Lorenzo stood there in his pajama pants. "You scared the crap out of me."

"I know," he cocked his head to the side, his grey eyes running over my body that was covered in one one of his shirts which was a size too big, the neck falling off one of my shoulders as the length reached my thighs.

"You look like a deer caught in headlights."

"Well of course I was caught by my husband doing what I was warned not to in the middle of the night," I said, signaling to where he stood beside the wall where the light switch was and pointed at the bulb basking us in a white glow. "Under the study room light."

"It's a good thing you remember," he murmured and kicked the door closed. "Seeing the lights on in this room had made me think for a moment you had forgotten."
