Heya!
Just wanted to quickly drop in to clarify that this is a Fanfic of the novel "The Reincarnator's Tavern" by GnomeBob. The original premise and ideas belong to him except my OCs and AU elements.
I am writing this for fun and to pass the time as the original novel is in hiatus.
I suggest to readers who don't know about the original to read the first chapter of "The Reincarnator's Tavern", called Character Creation. It will describe the core mechanic of this entire novel. I tried thinking of an alternative way to introduce the novel but decided that the original already did a good job.
To summarize that chapter, basically, you will create your character base in a way similar to DnD using dice and a character sheet. You can only choose one Body type: the Energy Body Type or the Adaptive Body Type. From that Body Type, the Power Systems become available.
So for Energy Body Types: there is Warrior (Dragon Ball Series), Wizard (Harry Potter), and Ninja (Naruto). For Adaptive Body Types: there is Hunter (Hunter X Hunter), Pirate (One Piece), and Jedi (Star Wars).
So you can't designate your classes as Warrior, Hunter, and Pirate, as Warrior is from the Energy Body Type and Hunter and Pirate are Adaptive. You can only choose one Body Type and the associated Classes (triple-checked with the source material as I with many others seemed to have this misconception).
Even just focusing on one Class from the Energy Body Type can give greater returns when compared to the Adaptive Body Type Classes, though the Adaptive Body Type Classes have the benefit of having great synergy with one another, so there are multiple ways to go about it.
You roll three 6-sided dice 3 times. For example, the sum of the first three could be 4, the second, 12, and the third 17. You can do this process up to five times and you can choose which roll set you're gonna use. You can then distribute the 3 sums into the different classes and their corresponding talents/items.
You can assign the class to your Primary Class, Secondary Class, and Tertiary Class. The order decides the bonus points to the rolls. So, the first gets +2, the second gets +1, and the third gets no bonus.
The order also decides the order of worlds you need to go to unlock, so you can't immediately go to the Class World of Ninja if it is your Third Class and you haven't traveled to the other Class worlds before it first. MCU world is the default world so you can go there anytime. You can only travel to the default World or the Class Worlds of your Classes (so no Warrior Player in One Piece).
If a roll is a 9 or below, you can add it to another roll that is a 9 or below, to get a roll that is a max of 18 and a minimum of 2. However, this means that you only have two classes and it also locks you out of a Class World.
Finally, the 20-Talent Bundle is when a roll sum of 18 is designated to your Primary Class. Instead of being able to distribute the points into the Talent, Masteries, and Items of that class, you get the Supreme Talent of that Class. So, best Talent but can't choose what to spend it on.
If you choose, you may decide to have the bundle not take effect, meaning you get the 18 +2 roll points to distribute however you like, but no Supreme Talent.
This 20-Talent bundle only takes effect when the Class is your Primary Class, so it can only take effect once per player (assuming they get enough rolls to get it though).
There may be differentiations as compared to the original as it will incorporate a lot of my own interpretations (the core rules above stay the same though), whether it be on the original novel or on the different Power Systems.
Any suggestions for Player characters, ideas, or other things are welcome!
Other than that, I suggest you read the original book as I myself have enjoyed it a lot and to better understand the story.
