章節 10: orphanage (2)

it's been a year and half since we came to this place, it's been very boring, nothing except working out.....actually I don't even think this can be called working out, its more like light exercising.
me and my brothers have definitely gotten the attention of the older kids who look after us, well I can think of many reasons, for one we didn't really cry or scream or poop/pee ourselves like the other kids, we were very quiet most of the time, except talking to each other so that we could share what we have learned of this world's language so far.....thinking about it, I guess three babies talking to each other will also look weird or atleast a bit strange, and the most attention grabbing thing is our actions of exercising.
the other kids also look at us time to time, but I didn't care because they are kids who don't know anything about the world, so seeing another baby act very differently will definitely get their attention, though after seeing us do the same thing everyday most of them lost interest, most of them anyways, some still looked at us, while some even mimicked us, which was funny to see because they failed alot.

well one more year passed by, me and brothers have pretty much learned most of this world's language or atleast the day to day spoken version of it.
I also kinda figured out why there were so many children in this one orphanage, it's because this world has alot of people, just the humans are atleast seven times then our old world and all those people are split between two nations.
most of the things are all run by nobles, so in other words all the commoners are just workers, the nobles also don't care about them, so they get low wages while all the things are highly priced, so alot of parents abandon their child simply because they can't support and raise them.
another reason is because of slaves, there are alot of slaves from other races as well as our own race humans, most of the slaves are humans and demi humans while there are a few other races like elfs but most of those are taken by the nobles.
the kids here don't really have a name till they can open their own status window, it will show them their name if their parents gave them names, but most of them don't have one, so they name themselves, which resulted in quite the....mix? variety? I don't know but there were alot of funny names, well to be fair imagine kids under 4 years naming themselves.
also from what I have heard from the older kids talking, apparently two Duke families lost their heads and a count family was wiped out, this surprised me and my brothers becuase the count family was one we liked the most out of all the other human families, it was mainly because all you need is just a drop of their blood to get a easy free power up, I mean who wouldn't want a free power up.
but I feel like we three are connected to this mainly because of what we saw after we opened our eyes.

six more months passed by, and we were all three years old now, so that means this place is going to start teaching us about the language and other stuff.
the way they did it was simple, they had someone older teach us about it, it wasn't the most efficient but it was also efficient on the owners part, they didn't have to do anything, infact I have never seen the owner of this place, it's always been maintained by kids who were older.
anyway they split us all into groups of 10 and had one person teach them, there wasn't really any rules or timing, the person teaching decided it all, the person who we got as our 'teacher' and his name was Ray.
"this is quite the interesting group isn't it?" he said while looking at us, this was technically the first class, he was maybe at most two years older while atleast probably a year and half older.
and he was kinda right because the 10 people of this group, it had us three siblings which automatically makes it kinda weird, then there were two other two pairs of siblings, while the last two where kids who followed Kai since we came to this room the last one didn't show up.
Ray didn't really teach us much for the first day though, he just wrote all the letters on a sheet of paper then told us to copy it, well I guess unlike us the other kids don't really know much.
actually thinking about it, we probably know more about this then Ray does, realizing this I let out a mental sigh, knowing that we now have to sit here and listen to this everyday even though we know everything he is telling us and even if he does know few things we don't, it's still better to just go to a library after we leave this orphanage, plus there is clearly other things we can do right now then just sit here.

another year and half passed by, we are all four and half years old now.
unlike the past four years, there has been two big changes, one is that Kai and few other kids disappeared one night.
they were just gone and when we asked the older kids about it, they said that this happens once in a while.
since then me and ryu have been on alert whenever we sleep and we also searched for any information about what the reason for the disappreance maybe, but so far all we could find out was that it was related to the owner of the place.
as for the second change it was that once a person is four years old, they can open their status window, so alot kids now either know their or made up a name for themselves.
and the part that surprised us the most was our second name which could also be considered family name, most commoners don't have a second name because most of them used to be orphans just like the kids in this orphanage, after all there are plenty of orphanages around.
