12.5% The Young Madam Went on a Spending Spree Again Today / Chapter 2: Her Husband is So Handsome!

章節 2: Her Husband is So Handsome!

One month later, Leng Rongrong officially donned her wedding dress, preparing to marry Mo Linyuan.

Old Master Lu was a man who loved traditional weddings, so when the couple tied the knot, the Mo family's old residence was filled with an ancient atmosphere, with both bride and groom dressed in traditional attire.

"Rongrong, thank you for doing this favor for Qingqing. Mom is really grateful to you."

Li Mulan stood beside Leng Rongrong, feigning sincerity as she handed her a glass of water. "Rongrong, drink some water. You've been in makeup for half the day; you must be exhausted."

Leng Rongrong took the glass, sipped from it, and gazed into the mirror at her reflection in the red wedding dress, as well as at Li Mulan, whose face resembled that of a mistress.

When Li Mulan reached out to grab her hand, Leng Rongrong subtly avoided her.

Holding the cup, she took another sip, her voice icy, "No need to pretend. You didn't ask me for a favor; you threatened me. Say what you need to say, or if you're just full of it, get lost."

"Rongrong—" Li Mulan's eyes narrowed, a cold glint flashing in them. She had known that this wild girl from the countryside had no manners and wouldn't be easily controlled.

Leng Rongrong walked over to the sofa and sat down, suddenly feeling a wave of dizziness.

She glanced sharply at the cup in her hand. "You—you drugged me!"

"Without the drug, how could we make sure you wouldn't run?" Li Mulan sneered. "If you regret it now, who will marry him today?"

"Mom, how's it going?" Leng Qingqing rushed in from outside the door, and when she saw Leng Rongrong sitting weakly on the sofa, she let out a sigh of relief. "She drank it? Perfect! Now, even if she regrets it, she can't escape. I can rest easy!"

Leng Rongrong, having agreed to the marriage, had let her guard down and was now too weak to resist. Coldly, she fixed her gaze on Leng Qingqing and Li Mulan, remembering this moment vividly.

Luckily, her groom was a cripple. Surely, a cripple wouldn't be able to do anything to her, right?

A fleeting sense of relief crossed Leng Rongrong's mind, but soon after, her consciousness began to fade, and the voices of Li Mulan and her daughter grew more and more distant.

In the midsummer night, even the wind carried a searing heat.

The Mo family's old residence was ablaze with lights, decorated in bright red, with festive music occasionally spilling out. Two enormous red "double happiness" characters on the main door announced the joyous occasion within.

The grand hall was packed with guests, each table laden with delicacies.

Despite it being the day of the wedding, neither the bride nor groom was seen in the hall toasting guests. Instead, Old Master Lu and his sons were bustling around, toasting and entertaining everyone.

No one found it strange, though. After all, it was said that the groom, Mo Linyuan, was severely crippled—paralyzed from the waist down, unable to move his limbs. He rarely liked seeing people, and such a crowd would surely make him prefer hiding in his room.

At the same time, in a room on the top floor, a woman lay on a red wedding bed, her jet-black hair and snow-white skin starkly contrasting with her red bridal gown.

Her brows were tightly furrowed, as if troubled by a distressing dream.

Beside the bed, two young men glanced at the handsome man in the red wedding attire sitting in a wheelchair. "Young master, do you need our assistance?"

"No need. Cough, cough, cough—" Mo Linyuan managed a few words before descending into a fit of violent coughing.

The two young men exchanged puzzled looks.

After a moment, one of them ventured, "Young master, the old master wants a great-grandchild. Perhaps you should try... If not, we can assist you."

Mo Linyuan's brows furrowed, his coughing worsening, and he weakly waved them away.

Seeing his state, the two young men bowed and retreated.

The door, emblazoned with the "double happiness" symbol, closed behind them. Outside, the two young maids' whispered conversation drifted into the room.

"Seriously, the old master wants a great-grandchild? If Fourth Young Master really pushes himself, it might just cost him his life!"

"Exactly! In his condition, why even bother getting married?"

"Isn't it the old master's idea? He knows his grandson doesn't have long to live, and he loves him, so he just wants him to leave behind a child."

"Pfft—"

"What's so funny?"

"You know, Fourth Young Master's legs are crippled, and his hands are weak. Do you think that part of him still works?"

"Now that you mention it... It's probably long gone. There's no way he could father a child!"

Their voices gradually faded away.

Inside the bright red room, a cold smile curved Mo Linyuan's thin lips as he slowly rose from his wheelchair and walked towards the bed.

The woman lying on the wedding bed was stunning, with a small, delicate face, her skin as white as jade. Her facial features were exquisitely perfect, and her long lashes cast soft, feathered shadows.

A pale hand brushed across her face, gently tracing her features before it wrapped around her throat. Mo Linyuan's voice, low and dangerous, asked, "Did you marry a cripple for Mo family's wealth, or to act as someone's spy?"

His grip tightened slightly.

In her dream, Leng Rongrong felt as though she was sinking deep into the ocean, struggling fiercely.

Her struggles, however, only infuriated Mo Linyuan more. Even in her sleep, she was strong, landing a punch squarely on Mo Linyuan's chest.

"Still daring to hit me?" Mo Linyuan's brows arched in amusement as he gazed at Leng Rongrong. "So, they trained you well. That fighting technique..."

His cold, abyssal eyes gleamed with icy intensity as he swiftly flipped onto the bed.

"Since you've delivered yourself to my door, as my wife, I won't hold back."

"No—"

Leng Rongrong awoke with a start the next morning.

Her eyes opened to a sea of red—red candles, red "double happiness" characters, red bedding...

Was it a dream?

Or was it real?

Suddenly, a shiver ran down her spine. She remembered the dream from the night before: she had been lying in bed, and a man dressed in a red wedding robe had climbed into bed with her.

It all felt like a blur, like a dream yet too real to dismiss.

Leng Rongrong lay still, thinking for a moment, before moving her legs. Her entire body ached with a soreness she couldn't ignore.

No way...

Wasn't Mo Linyuan supposed to be crippled? Paralyzed, at that. How could he have possibly...?

Faintly, she recalled a strong, vigorous figure, a man with immense strength.

It had to have been a dream! How could a cripple like Mo Linyuan possibly do such a thing!

Swallowing hard, Leng Rongrong turned her head, and nearly jumped out of her skin. There, beside her pillow, was a face, wide-eyed and staring innocently at her.

"What the—who are you!?"

With a curse, Leng Rongrong kicked Mo Linyuan right off the bed.

Mo Linyuan: "..."

Leng Rongrong's heart pounded wildly as she clutched her chest, taking a long moment to calm herself down.

Holy... Lying next to her on the wedding bed... Could it be the crippled Fourth Young Master, Mo Linyuan?

She had heard that not only was he crippled, but his health was fragile. Just a few words would send him into a coughing fit. She might have just kicked him straight to the afterlife!
