章節 70: It's not funny

Haein and I walked in silence for a while after Haein killed a man for the first time in her god-knows-how-long life. 

I was sad.

Actually, I was very sad. This really wasn't how things were supposed to be and I would have liked to prevent this from happening if I could - I mean, I tried, didn't I?

On the other hand, although there were a thousand things for us to think about, the most important question right now was, of course -

Can she break a can of cola?

"Hey, you must be exhausted after all that stress. Would you like to drink something?", I kindly offered.

"…Sure…", not suspecting anything, she responded emotionlessly. 

We found a little 24-hour convenience store at the corner of the street so I asked her to wait outside. I went in to grab a can of cola from the shop. I remembered the first time this happened to me and the scared look on the face of the poor little staff who got scared out of his body on that Halloween night.
