First day Of the First Moon.

"Everyone who Is not a Targaryen or my assistant will leave the room at once, otherwise you will have it.", bellowed Gerardys. I was shell shocked seeing Gerardys this angry for the first time. The midwives looked at each other for a second before hurrying out of the room.
As Gerardys powerwalked towards the maester who I assumed was currently shitting his pants due to being shouted at by Rhaenys, I looked at how Daemon practically floated towards Laena while holding her hand and reassuring her that everything would be alright.
I sometimes wonder what type of man he would be If he did not lust after the iron throne. Well, there are some things that one will never be able to understand.
I opened the curtains and as the moonlight came inside I realized how long it had been. It was already the hour of the wolf and the labor had taken its toll on Laena. All this time Princess Rhaenys had stayed by her side. Seeing the bond between the mother and her child brought up the memories which I had buried deep inside my heart.
The screams of Laena did not help either. I was pretty sure that I would go deaf if this continued.
It was here where the experience of Gerardys came in hand. The man did not look as If all of this had a toll on him. It did not help that I was sleep deprived too.
I should not have gone riding on Silverwing but I could not deny her after all she had been a good girl. In hindsight, I should have known better than go riding a day before all this was supposed to happen.
Finally, the time had come. I kept the milk of the poppy on the side while Laena was giving it her all to pop the kid out. It seemed that the babe was crowning and would be out in some time.
In all the pregnancies that I had assisted Gerardys the babes and the mother were healthy. But despite the fact that I knew the babe that would be born to Daemon and Laena was stillborn I did not expect the babe to be that fucking disfigured.
I knew that I had only a few moments until Laena would be told about her kid that she carried for nine months and struggled so hard to give birth to was dead, resulting in her death due to childbirth fever. So when she asked Gerardys whether the babe was alright I decided to take a chance.
"The babe is well princess. It's a boy. But you should recover your strength princess."
Then I gave her the small dose of milk of the poppy that I had prepared and she slowly drifted to sleep with a blissful smile on her face.
It was then that I noticed the gobsmacked looks on the faces of Rhaenys and Gerardys.
The fury in the eyes of Rhaenys truly was terrifying. She caught my hand in a tight hold and dragged me outside. I was scared that she would feed me to Meleys before I could even explain.
Outside the door, Corlys was sitting on the chair in deep contemplation while Daemon and Laenor were drinking from a wineskin.
Seeing Rhaenys come out all of them stood up.
"The babe was stillborn", was all she said. For a moment there was complete silence.
"And Laena?", asked Daemon while tightening his fists.
"She lives my prince, but she is very weakened.", I said in a hurry.
As soon as I said that all three men hurried inside while Rhaenys and I waited outside.
After some time Corlys and Daemon came outside. It seemed that Laenor decided to stay with his sister.
"Why the fuck did you lie to her?", Daemon said. The utter venom in his voice made me realize that I would have to explain myself as fast as possible.
"Lord Corlys It will be great If we could go to your solar so that I could explain the reason why I did what I did."
He nodded his head and we started walking to his solar. On the way, I saw various carpets adorning the wall and floors of the keep which showed the voyages of the Sea Snake.
As we entered the solar Corlys along with Daemon and Rhaenys sat on chairs I remained standing. Holy shit the three of them were Intimidating. Daemon looked just short of beating the shit out of me.
"Prince Daemon, If I may, I wish to know how long the labor of Princess Laena lasted while giving birth to the twins."
"Why the fuck does that matter", he growled out.
"Just answer his question Daemon", said the Sea Snake.
"Around eight to ten hours", he spat out.
"I know It is not my place to question your knowledge, my prince but The maesters of the citadel had written a wonderful volume regarding the anatomy of the bodies of women, and do you know what it states?".
I took a pause before continuing," It states that It is more dangerous for a woman who has given birth to twins to give birth another time, and the chance of fatality increases. The moment I learned from your maester lord Corlys that your daughter was in labor for more than eight hours, I understood that the chance of saving your grandchild was minimal. That is why I did what was necessary to save Princess Laena."
As I looked toward the faces in the room, I noticed that Daemon had cooled down while Rhaenys and Corlys were still waiting for me to finish my point.
Now was the chance to drive the nail in the coffin.
"What do you think will happen when the maester will tell a woman who has been in labor for about a day that the child she struggled to give birth to was stillborn? All her willpower will be gone and that is when childbirth fever will kick in and let me tell you the chances of the Princess surviving that fever is close to none."
I opened my arms up, classic anime style.
"So I did what I had to in order to make sure that she survives, after all, I made a promise to you Lord Corlys that I would save your daughter".
And at that point, his eyes widened with realization.
Guess I would have to go to dragonstone and cross off "Impressing Corlys Velaryon" from the 'to-do' list
