章節 32: Survive! Part 1

The students of the hero class were already starting to feel quite confused, they had spent about 20 minutes walking and High command had not said anything in all that time.

"High command-sensei, are we close to arriving?" Yoshino asked with a calm and curious expression.

"There is still a good way ahead, I recommend you look for some form of entertainment!!" High command said in an explanatory tone as he continued walking in front of the students.

At this, they all let out a tired sigh and began to talk among themselves to get to know each other better.

"Hey Doryoku, what hero name did you pick? I'm Loud cloud!" Oboro asked Doryoku as he said his hero name with pride.

"Wow, I didn't see it coming" Doryoku said not at all impressed while Oboro had a vein on his forehead.

"I am Present Mic, a pleasure to viewer!!" Hizashi said introducing himself as a hero with a name at least a little more creative.

"Eraserhead, and no, I didn't choose it" Aizawa said walking with the rest while he listened to the conversation and seemed a bit tired.

"I doubt you have anything better, the most imaginative thing in your suit is that wine-colored tie" said Oboro, knowing Doryoku perfectly and also knowing his lack of imagination.

"You are right, I only chose 'Doryoku' as a hero name, but believe it or not there is a reason behind that and this tie" Doryoku said with a nod in approval as he held his tie carefully.

"There is nothing better to do, drop your story" Aizawa said looking in the direction of the High command who did not seem to have any intention of stopping.

"Well, you see..." Doryoku said in an explanatory tone as he remembered everything that happened to him a few days ago and everyone paid attention to him.

//Flashback from a couple of days ago//

Doryoku had a rather complex dilemma these days and it was... to think of a good name to make Oboro not be able to bother him with that.

But after a few hours, Doryoku couldn't think of anything at all due to his lack of imagination, his greatest weakness, causing him to flop down on the couch in defeat.

"Dory-chan, will you tell me about your problem or are you going to keep trying to maintain your pride?" Nintai said leaving the dining room with a mocking smile and some coffee as Doryoku lifted his feet to let her sit next to him.

"Guess at least I tried, do you have any ideas for a hero name Okā-chan?" Doryoku said swallowing his pride and asking his mother.

"Name? I doubt I can do you justice Dory-chan, a hero name must mean both what you are and what you will be, or at least that's what your father said" Nintai said as she calmly drank some coffee and tried to remember.

Doryoku let out a weary sigh due to this as he wasn't even sure of his purposes yet, so now he was even more lost.

Or at least that was until a doubt crossed his mind.

"Okā-chan, where does my name come from?" Doryoku asked suddenly making Nintai smile slightly.

"Do you have an idea? I'd be happy to help" Nintai said putting the coffee down on the small table in front of the sofa as Doryoku sat up straight to pay attention.

"Your name has a very beautiful story behind it, although like everything has something to do with your father, I suppose that crazy man at least had good ideas" said Nintai laughing slightly at the memory while Doryoku also smiled at the little story.

"The surname Suzuki, obviously comes from your father and means 'tree bells' as well as being the most common of all" Nintai said with an explanatory tone as she gestured with her hands and Doryoku nodded like a small child.

"For your father's family that last name meant 'lucky bells' due to an ancestor's mistake or something like that, in short, the point is than that last name meant luck for them" said Nintai trying to remember the strange name of that ancestor without any success.

"But your father always said 'that last name has of lucky what I have of a good person' so he always dislikes talking about it" said Nintai making a thicker and more plaintive voice to represent Doryoku's father.

"That's why he said that if we had a son he would call him Ganbaro, and I told him that name was disgusting so you ended up with the name Doryoku" Nintai said remembering the terrible name with disapproval as Doryoku let out a sigh of relief.

"It's quite simple Dory-chan, your name means effort and what your father always wanted it to mean, 'do your best not to depend on lucky bells'" Nintai said with a warm smile and then went to look for something in her room.

Doryoku stayed on the couch quite thoughtful about this, but decided that it would be best to honor his father and mother by using his own name as his hero's name.

"Here it is! A small gift for your hero suit" said Nintai with an elegant wine-colored tie in her hands.

Doryoku really liked the color wine, and that together with being a gift from his mother was enough to make that tie very special.

"This is a tie that I gave to your father at his graduation as a hero and he always wore it except for the day when... well you know" Nintai said with a slightly sad smile making Doryoku worry a bit.

"Don't make that face, I'm fine look" Nintai said smiling broadly as she pressed Doryoku's cheeks lovingly.

"This one also has its own phrase spoken by this lady and it is the following..." Nintai said pointing proudly enough to then say.

"'People change at all times, but they must always have at least two things in which they will never change and that is the way they never forget who they are'" Nintai said in an explanatory tone while giving a small kiss on the forehead of Doryoku with love.

Those words penetrated very deep in Doryoku, being something that he would never forget.

"As long as you wear this tie, I'll be completely sure that nothing bad will happen, always wear it Dory-chan" said Nintai and then give his son a warm hug, being returned by him.

And with all this, Doryoku already had what it took to be a hero.

//End of Flashback//

"*Sniff* Hell, I didn't see it coming" said Oboro crying next to Hizashi at Doryoku's story.

"I was close, but you still lacked a bit" said Aizawa who seemed softer but still held very strong.

"I haven't said yet which are the two things that make me who I am" Doryoku said with a slight smile, taking a deep breath and pointing his index finger at him.

"Doryoku Suzuki, someone that I am and at the same time I want to be again, who adores his mother with all his heart and who always protects the innocents" said Doryoku with great determination and always promising to keep that promise.

"Tch, that did hurt" Aizawa said with a sharp throb in his heart as Oboro and Hizashi cried dramatically.

Some students heard Doryoku's words and also had a good first impression of his new partner.

But High command heard those words too, and took his purple beret as he smiled slightly upon hearing that story.

"Well here we are!!" High command said arriving at some kind of fake park with several buildings around it.

It had already been another 20 minutes of walking and some students were a bit tired, especially the emitters, although they still seemed a bit confused by the very open area.

"In the buildings that you see around you there are several dolls posing as civilians, a total of about 100, in addition to the fact that the houses are very sensitive to simulate a landslide or earthquake, in itself a very weak infrastructure" said High command in an explanatory tone making all aspiring heroes nod with understanding.

"Today you face one of the worst cases for a hero, weak structures, no information and above all with a villain doing damage, it's is I!" High command said with a lot of excitement and expectation making the students tense in his presence.

"Doryoku Suzuki, you will keep me at bay while the rest save the civilians, if a civilian is not found, you all fail, if I end up with a doll, you all fail, here there are no opportunities, this is not a test, this is reality!!!" High command said more and more excited making Doryoku feel intimidated, but still he wants to give everything to show himself that he had advanced.

"I don't want to tear you apart so fast so you can choose someone to support you and I'll give you just a 5 minute head start! Start running!!" High command said making everyone start to think of a direction or way to organize.

Doryoku thought of some candidate to be his partner, first thinking of Aizawa logically.

But High command didn't seem to have an emitter-type quirk, and a hit from him would be devastating to someone like Aizawa, so Doryoku was clear who he wanted as a partner.

"Hey you the guy with white hair that I don't know, can you help me?" Doryoku asked Oboro sarcastically and pretending not to know him.

"Of course unknown, it will be my pleasure" said Oboro smiling with excitement for the fight as he stood next to Doryoku to keep High command at bay.

"Do you have any idea of his quirk?" Doryoku asked Oboro as all the students scattered to save the people around quickly.

"No idea, it seems that he really wanted to make this training a surprise" said Oboro a little more seriously putting on some glasses while he took the staff from his back ready for combat.

"I guessed it" Doryoku said as he put the mask back on and pressed a small button that also gave him black combat goggles making Oboro smile widely.

"I didn't do it for you, this is also a recommendation from Last laser-sensei" Doryoku said with a tired sigh at Oboro's stupid smile.

"We are brothers with glasses, come on!" Oboro said ignoring Doryoku as he offered a fist bump with great excitement.

Doryoku let out another tired sigh and fist high with Oboro with a slight excited smile under the mask to start the fight.

"You have no time left applicants, welcome to the real world!!!" High command said with great expectation and excitement for the combat as the test began.

High command took a strong momentum and arrived in front of Doryoku in an instant and launching a strong blow, greatly surprising both students.

Doryoku managed to use Aikido and deflect the blow to the side, but...

"Good technique boy, but you're still missing!!" High command said with appreciation and satisfaction and then landed another blow to Doryoku's stomach.

Doryoku let out a complaint of pain due to this and shot towards the houses surrounding the area, leaving only Oboro.

Oboro took his attacking stance much more serious than before as High command turned to look at him.

High command moved again in an instant being seen by the polished reflections of Oboro which he attacked with his staff instantly.

"One step back!!" High command said suddenly and then launched a blow towards Oboro.

Oboro's right foot moved back on its own, knocking him out of his fighting pose for a second and causing him to take a heavy blow to the chest, also sending him in the same direction as Doryoku.

"Let's see how well rookies survive !!" High command said running to the direction he sent both of them at high speed.

And with this began the first part of the High command training.
