The two people were about to walk forward when a guard looked at them. He said, "Sir, may I ask if you are here for residency?" 

The couple nodded. The guard said, "Sir, Madam, please pardon us, but can we have you place your hand on the crystal?" as he took out a crystal from his space ring. 

Dao Yin asked, "Why do you need us to place a hand on the crystal?" 

"Madam, this crystal is embedded with an array formation. The formation is two-way communication with the crystal you may have spotted at the city entrance. If the crystal here lit up and the guards on the gates confirmed that their crystal also lit up. We will know that you are the true guests.", replied the guard. 

Yang Dao nodded and said, "Interesting."
