The day I had been waiting for this one.
"Hikari. YOU BETTER PICK UP YOUR PACE OR YOU'LL MISS YOUR FLIGHT!" Said Nanako, She's the one who will drive me to the airport.
"Alright, I'm coming down!" I grab my laptop beg before closing my bedroom door.
"Geez. What take you so long? I still have my classes today. Hurry up!"
"Sorry. I was looking for my laptop and I didn't realize it was on my study table." I hope in the car and Nanako turned on the engine, she started to drive the car. We reach the airport after a long drive, including the bad traffic.
"You know the way right?" asked Nanako. She unloaded my beg onto a trolley.
"Yeah. I know the way. Thanks, Nanako! Drive safe!"
"Alright. You take care okay? Send my regards to your family and please bring me something in return." She hops in the car.
"Roger that! Bye!" I wave goodbye as Nanako drives by and headed to the flight gate. Before entering the gate, I need to self-check in and the cue for my luggage. After everything has settled, I take my seat on one of those chairs waiting for another hour.
' I better called mom.' I take out my iPhone and called my mother. The sound of the phone connected. Soon after, mom answered the call.
"Hello, Hikari."
"Hi, mom! What are you doing?"
"I just finished cooking for lunch. Why are you calling?"
"Nothing. I just wanted to tell you I'm at the airport now. Haha.." I lean back for a moment, relaxing my body. It's so good to hear my mother's voice.
"What?! The airport? Which airport?"
"Tokyo mom. I'm still in Tokyo, I was taking a break from my studies. I'm heading back home to you guys."
"Why don't you tell us sooner? Your father is working right now."
"Hm. It's okay mom, I can take a taxi when I landed there. I guess I see you soon mom."
"Alright. Be safe, I'll need to tell your father about this."
"Okay, mom. I'm hanging up now. Bye."
"Take care." we ended the calls. I look at the time
On my phone screen, another 45 minutes. I plug my earphone in and take a quick nap before getting on the flight.
After 30 minutes of sleep, my alarm awakes me. I turn off the alarm. I stand up and head to the washroom to wash my face. When I'm in the restroom, I could hear the sound of moaning coming from one of the doors.
"Get a room please!" I said out loud. It's fucked up when people with no manners come to japan. They always do whatever they want and whenever they want.
I took off my mask and let the sink tab run, I wash my face a few times and dry it with my handkerchief. But the sound of moaning is getting louder. A few Japanese women came in and they heard the sound of it.
"It's stupid, right?" I looked at them, and they nodded.
I continue with putting on some lip balm and tired my hair up. Then I left the restroom. I headed to the gate and showed my pass as a student. They let me in and I walk for almost 10 minutes before reaching the plane door. Two flight attendants welcomed us onboard and shows us the seat. I booked a seat next to the window. I take my seat and buckle up. Fewer people onboard. I didn't wait long before we took off. I pulled out my laptop and open it. Lucky for me, no one seats beside me so I could have my things on the chair.
"Excuse me miss, do you want some refreshment?" said the flight attendant behind the trolley.
"Nah. I'm all good. Thanks!" She nodded and left me to others. It will be a long 3 hours. So I decided to watch some anime on my laptop screen.
After three hours on the flight, I finally landed in my hometown. I put all my things back on my beg and heads down to the airport building. As usual, I waited for my luggage and carry them with me in a trolley. I reached the front gate and to my surprise, Aoi-chan and a man. I waved from a distance, I'm so happy to see her again.
"Aoi-chan! It's so good to see you!" I hug her.
"Hikari-chan. Have you been well?" I slowly let go of my embrace and nodded.
"I have so much to tell you! But first who is this man?" I whisper in Aoi-chan's right ear. She giggled.
"Let me introduce you, this is Yamamoto-Kun, my fiance."
"Ehhhhhhhh!! You didn't tell me that you had a fiance before!" I'm shocked.
"Hello, Mayumi. It's nice to finally meet you in person. Aoi-chan has told me about you before." He bows in proper form, and I bow as well.
"It's nice to meet you err.. what's your family name?"
"It's shoto. Yamamoto shoto."
"Shoto-Kun."
"Should we get going now?" says Aoi-chan, Shoto pulls my trolley and let us walk behind him. I talked about everything to Aoi-chan. We hop in Shoto's car and head home.
"How long are you going to stay?" asked Aoi-chan from the front seat.
"I'm going to stay for a week. Are you free tomorrow? Do you want to grab breakfast with me?"
"yea sure."
"or you could grab breakfast in Aoi-chan's house. I bet grandma wants to meet you," says Shoto.
"That's a good idea! So tomorrow morning I head to your house okay?"
"Okay, Hikari-chan."
It feels off about them. But maybe it's just my imagination. They dropped in the front yard and I bid them goodbye. I pick up my bags and head to my front door. I ring the bell a few times before Hanabi opens the door.
"Surprise?" I look at her face as she looks at me up and down.
"why are you back here?" she answered with an annoying tone.
"Why I can't come back in here anymore?" I pull the door wide open and enter the house.
"Mom! I'm home!" I shout from the front door.
"Mom is not here, she goes out to meet the new neighbor." Say Hanabi. She helped me with my beg and put it aside.
"Shouldn't you be at school now?" I asked her, Hanabi looked at me with no reaction. She seem tired.
"I don't feel so good," she said. We enter the living room and she seats on the couch.
"You better go and check up, if you have a fever or anything you should sleep." I take out a jar of orange juice from the fridge and pour it into a glass.
"I just need to eat some medicine and sleep. Mom already cooks lunch, so if you hunger just reheat it. Don't bother me." Hanabi takes off and heads to her room.
"Have you eaten?" I shout down the room.
"Yea.." I guess she is tired. Well, I don't have to bother her since she told me so. I preheat the sound and the dish then I prepare my lunch.
"It's so nice to be here again!" The fresh air and the greens are some things I miss.
