章節 1: Emily
It was a sunny day when we all went on that picnic, me and my parents.
-" Emily hurry up and eat your breakfast or you won't go on the picnic", said my mum. We were in summer so the weather was perfect for a family picnic. So I replied :
-" Really , mum! Are we going on a
picnic?"
-" Yes, honey" my mum replied, I was really happy that day. So I finished my breakfast as fast as I could then I got dressed. -"Mommy, I'm ready let's go" said I
-she said :" Just a minute Emmy I'm just preparing the last sandwich, go wait for me with daddy in the farm" while spreading the cheese on the toast.
-"O.k , but please hurry up, mum. ".
That day we all went on a wonderful picnic. We ate sandwiches, drank tea and enjoyed our time.
-"It's getting late we should go home Jacob "said my mother looking to my father.
-"but Mummy It is still early ." Said I
-" We can come again tomorrow, but now we should go home Emily". Said my mother
We walked home happily, but we didn't know what was waiting for us there. The moment we reached our home we were paralysed. We found our farm all messed up, our crops are taken, our cow was gone and our house was a mess. At first we didn't know what happened but after a while we realised that we were robbed. Everything was gone. How will we be able to live without a cow?. The farm has been destroyed and all the money that my father was keeping was stolen. we were so desperate. I went to my room very sad and started crying. The next day my dad had to wake up early in the morning and search for a work. I remember that daddy told me I should go to the neighbouring farm to help the farmers for a small amount of money. I was young but I had to help my dear family. I worked in that farm for a week. It all went well until that day came.
-" Do you need anything mummy? I'm leaving" said I, one morning. But I didn't know that this was the last time I will see my mum for a long time.
-" No sweetheart just take care of yourself" my mum said with a bright smile on her face. I opened the door and went to the farm as usual
I reached the farm and started working there . But I didn't know that I was being watched .I worked till sunset and as I was leaving I heard someone shouting with a shaking voice : "Emily, Emily, go home quickly", I turned round and saw the farm owner Mr. "Leon" limping towards me, he was tall and thin and he has brown hair. He was at his late fifties . He had bruises on his face and he could barely walk.
I immediately ran to help him. He shouted "No.. Go away! go home ".After he said that, two men appeared behind him. They were running towards me, I was terrified. I started to run. I ran and ran and ran. My lungs were burning, my heart was pounding and I was hardly catching my breath. I looked behind me and saw them running towards me. I continued running but then I stumbled on a stone. They caught me, and tied me up. I didn't know why they wanted me or why they caught me. I kicked and struggled to run away from them but I couldn't. I heard one of them muttering :"This girl is going to give us a lot of money", I didn't know what he was talking about but gradually I started to understand everything, I remember them taking me in a car which took us to a nearby port. There was a big ship and they took me up in that ship where I was left in a small room. After that I just couldn't bear all that fear and loneliness. How will I return to my home? I was crying and shivering so hard in that small room. After a while, I lost my consciousness .
