As I ran through the forest with my friends, we tried to put as much distance between us and the unknown danger that had been chasing us. But as we kept running, I realized that I had been separated from the group. "Draco! Raven! Oliver!" I called out, but the only response was the eerie silence of the forest.
As I looked around, I saw an apple tree nearby. My hunger hit me suddenly, and I realized that I hadn't eaten anything in hours. I approached the tree cautiously, checking to make sure that it wasn't poisonous. Seeing that it was a good apple tree, I picked a few and ate them greedily, taking some with me for later.
As I sat beneath the tree, the reality of the situation began to sink in. I was lost in a forest, and I didn't know where my friends were or if they were even safe. Fear crept up inside me as I thought about the danger we had just escaped and the unknown dangers that might be lurking in the shadows.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. I had to stay focused and keep moving forward. I couldn't let myself give up or lose hope. I had to find my friends and get out of this forest.
So, I got up and started walking in the direction I thought my friends might have gone. Every step I took was a step of faith that I would find them and make it out of the forest alive.
As the night set in, I realized I had no choice but to make a shelter for myself. After many failed attempts at starting a fire, I finally managed to light a small flame using some dried leaves and sticks. With the fire burning, I started gathering some branches and leaves to make a tent.As I sat there, eating some of the food I had managed to scavenge earlier, I heard a noise. My heart raced as I quickly grabbed the only weapon I had a metal stick that I had found lying around. Just as I was about to attack, a boy emerged from the bushes, pointing his own weapon at me."Who are you?" he demanded.
"Why would I tell you?" I retorted, keeping my guard up.
The boy looked about my age and seemed to be just as surprised to see me as I was to see him. "I'm lost," I said, keeping my metal stick at the ready. "I'm trying to find a way to get out of here, so it would have been helpful if you hadn't snuck up on me like that."
"I'm lost too," he said, slowly lowering his weapon as he approached. "What's your name?"
"Athena," I replied, finally lowering my own weapon. "And yours?"
He hesitated for a moment, seeming to debate whether or not to trust me, but eventually replied, "Kai."
"Nice to meet you," I said, offering a small smile.
Kai returned the smile, looking relieved that I wasn't going to attack him. "So, what brings you to this neck of the woods?" he asked.
"I was with a group of friends, but we got separated," I explained. "I've been wandering around, trying to find them ever since."
Kai nodded understandingly. "I'm in a similar situation. I was traveling with some others, but we got separated during an attack."
"An attack?" I repeated, feeling a chill run down my spine. "What kind of attack?"
Kai shook his head. "I don't really know. We were ambushed by a group of people with bows and arrows. I managed to escape, but I haven't seen my friends since."
I frowned, feeling a sense of unease settle over me. "Do you think those people are still out there?"
"It's hard to say," Kai replied, looking around nervously. "But we should be careful just in case."
"Why don't we stick together?" I suggested. "It's safer that way. Plus, two heads are better than one when it comes to finding our way out of here."
Kai considered my offer for a moment before nodding. "Okay. Let's stick together. But we need to keep moving. We can't stay in one place for too long."
I agreed, and we set off into the darkness, both of us on high alert for any signs of danger. As we walked, I couldn't help but wonder what else this forest had in store for us.
As we walked further into the woods, Kai and I chatted about our respective backgrounds. He told me about his small island nation of Atalanta, which I had never heard of before. I couldn't help but chuckle at his surprise when I told him I was from Earth.
"How did you end up here?" he asked, clearly confused.
"I came with my friends to find a sword," I replied.
"Oh, you mean the Aurorium Blade?" he asked.
"Yeah," I confirmed.
Kai then shared a surprising fact about the sword's puzzle that I had no idea about. "Did you know that the puzzle changes every time someone solves it?" he asked.
My eyes widened in disbelief. "No, I had no idea," I said, feeling even more determined to find the sword now.
"So it's impossible to know where it might be or what kind of puzzle it is," Kai continued. "But if you're looking for it, you're in the right place. This forest is full of mysteries and secrets. Who knows what kind of clues you might find here." I nodded thoughtfully, realizing that I had been so focused on finding my friends that I had forgotten about the true purpose of our journey. "Thanks for the information, I guess we both have our own reasons for being here." I said to Kai, trying to lighten the mood.
He nodded in agreement, but there was a distant look in his eyes that made me wonder if he was also thinking about his lost friends. It reminded me of my own worries about Raven, Draco, and Oliver. I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled over me since we got separated.
I spoke up again, "What do you think happened to your friends?"
Kai shrugged, "I don't know. I hope they're okay. But we should focus on finding a way out of here and maybe we'll come across some clues about them."
I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of determination rise within me. I was going to find my friends and the Aurorium Blade, no matter what it takes.
