Gao Yuan leaned against the doorway, his eyes listlessly gazing outside where soldiers had already begun their morning runs. Order and morale at Kandahar Air Base were gradually being restored, and more soldiers were starting to resume their training routines.

The sky had just begun to lighten when Panxin walked out from a four-man room. He glanced outside and, upon spotting Gao Yuan sitting by the door frame, felt that closing the door now seemed pointless. He hesitated for a moment but eventually closed the door reflexively and lowered his head, intending to head towards his own barracks.

Gao Yuan waved him over. Panxin hesitated and finally walked toward Gao Yuan.

"Uh... Good morning."

Gao Yuan watched Panxin, who unconsciously twisted his neck and whispered, "I'll go back if there's nothing else."

"How many?"

"Just one, only one! Really, just one!"

Panxin held up a finger, hurriedly finished speaking, then whispered, "I'm heading back now."
